Soap Characters Who Wear/Wore Glasses

Featured Replies

There are/were so few soap characters who wear/wore glasses just about all the time. Off the top of my head, the only ones I can think of are Asa Buchanan, Tom Horton, and Alan Quartermaine. (I believe all of them originally did not wear glasses. About when did each start wearing them?)

If one extends this list to include characters who wear/wore glasses some of the time, I seem to remember that Ross Marler would wear them.

I recall Peter Simon's Ed wore glasses in the early 80s.

AMC: Jack Montgomery wore them from time to time. Erica's doppleganger, Jane Campbell, wore them right before she went to prison. I guess she wore contacts when she was pretending to be Erica? Janet from another Planet wore them in the early 90s but was later sans glasses. Petey Cortlandt wore glasses. I think Mike Roy wore them for a while in the 80s.

Connie Wilkes aka faux Silver wore them, and Erica took to wearing them for a short time thereafter.

Little Sam on OLTL.

Rick Hearst's Alan-Michael sometimes wore them, as did Carmen Duncan's Iris.

On ATWT, the dreadful Debbie Simon wore glasses when she was supposed to be nerdy. After they made her over and she was supposed to be "hot," the glasses were never seen again.

Reminds me of the episode of Good Times where Thelma writes the play and now wears, as one IMDb'er put it, her "smart glasses".

DAYS' Chloe during her first year as "ghoul girl" although she did still wear glasses sometimes even after her ugly-duckling-turned-beautiful-swan moment.
