WTF? I suppose since Max doesn't have any real family connections left on the show there isn't too much for him to come back to... but you'd think with Gabrielle and Tina around that he could at least make an appearance!

And considering KDP is ON the show already I'm sure it wouldn't have been hard to get him back...

Missed opportunity!

I hated Luna and as I've said before, relished Max & Blair ripping off each other's clothes and throwing each other around that hotel room in Atlantic City.

I LOVE Jim DePaiva and think Max is the greatest male character of all-time on OLTL (step aside, Todd).

I'm kinda sorta surprised about the JFP thing, considering I LOVED Max faking the brain tumor and pretending to be Asa & Renee's son. JDP did some powerful work with Pat Elliot in that storyline and I just loved every minute of Max trying to swindle Asa. He and Phil Carey were always so great together.

I always thought that the tail end of her tenure and then the next regime is when Max stopped being Max and became overly domesticated and boring.

The end of her tenure was when Blair shot him in the back and then Gabrielle returned and they had that story about Asa faking his death and it was all so botched that the show then dropped Max/Gabrielle like a hot potato. That was also the story which said Max had been a deadbeat father and not paid a penny for Al's upbringing, which was awful.

Tomlin started that, although he did Roxy/Max, which I enjoyed a lot.

Most of JFP's stories for Max seemed to revolve around how many women could be easily degraded, although that's never very difficult with Kelly or Blair or Skye, sadly.

The problem with Max was they never how to adjust to him as a middle-aged man.

I think giving him children with Luna was a mistake, and was done from a fanboy point of view (Malone adored Luna), not from a character point of view.

    • And sadly I think that’s the trivia Both Jeanne Cooper and Eric Braeden went with for years and years. Lol
    • But people were hating so bad on amc and the final year and the ratings sucked. Business wise they made the right call. Oltl who even gained some ratings back and weren’t they higher as GH at one point is a decision and never understood.
    • Ann Williams was the first Maggie Powers on The Doctors but left to have a baby. Maggie was successfully recast so Ann picked up the role of Eunice (Jo's sister on Search for Tomorrow) and played that role for 10 years before being killed of in 1976. That led to her role of Margo on EON.
    • Looking at those totals it seems most contract actors are on a 1 or 2 week average guarantee. I assume contracts are still operating on 13 week cycles so you would have to know the particular actors contract starting date to work out their guarantee. The question remains as to what actors listed as contract are actually recurring? Bryton ?
    • Yep, that scene was at the conclusion of the Derek Thurston vs George Packard storyline, when Kay decided neither of them should run Chancellor.  By the time she put Victor in charge, Victor had been on the show for months & months with his Rolls Royce, his ranch, and Newman Enterprises.  SONY released some Y&R "trivia cards" in the late 1980s, and one of the questions was "who brought Victor Newman to Genoa City?" The answer on the back of the card is "Kay Thurston, to run Chancellor Industries", and it's a wrong answer lol.
    • I think someone said it did exist, but I can't remember.
    • The bit with the scarf reminds me of the fabled stuffed animal scene with Rick and Phillip. (That wasn't debunked, was it?)
    • Ohh, interesting. I instantly gravitated towards her in that episode. Of course I'm already hooked and want to know why she was trying to poison that older lady, but then how did the older lady know to switch the mugs so Susan drank her own poison...  but I have too many timelines I'm watching right now haha.  Oh, Bolger is definitely hot. I didn't realize he was on GL haha. I knew him from OLTL and other primetime stuff.
    • This is a effin shame. Eff Trump and eff the bastards that enable him.
