The Talk, The Chew, The View, The Flu...they're all total crap and the beauty is you don't even have to watch them first before unfairly passing what you know is an accurate judgment.

I don't know I have ever seen Dr Oz for more than 20 seconds once on Oprah while flipping channels, I am now supposed to care his nobody daughter is on TV too? Who cares, where is Erica???

I guess ABC had the date set long ago and they didn't want to do it taped. It looked live to me.

Did something happen to that bald guy's eyebrows? If it's a medical condition I don't want to make fun...

Clinton seemed to be saying a lot of "hip" or "sassy" phrases. I kept expecting him to say "whoop there it is." I felt awful for him.

I did laugh when Oz Daughter said she lost 30 pounds "permanently." Good luck keeping that off permanently...

I guess the only way to watch is as a parody. If SNL really wants to be of the times then they should rip this to shreds. They'd have enough material.

I didn't watch (and never will).

I saw that Daphne person when she guest co-hosted on The View a week or 2 ago, and the girl has zero charisma/personalty. Oh, and she looks a lot older than 25.

Where the hell is Erica Kane???! angry.png

This thread akes me sad sad.png

I rarely watch AMC live anyway--I find the constant commercials on llive soaps distracting (I always leave the room to do something and seem to miss the start of the next segment) anyway. AMC is on at noon here, Days is opposite OLTL at 1, but I will try to check out some of the reboot. I admit, I've simply NEVER been able to get into Days--something about the look and style of it, so I doubt I'll stick with it even if it's improved but...

I do usually catch at least 15 mins of Bold and the Beautiful (it's just so ridiculous but hard to look away), as it falls on my lunch break, and did catch JY's appearance. Would have like dot have seen him on The Talk and if I was home I would have watched some of the Chew I admit out of curiousity. Sounds dreadful (although to be fair it was their first episode, still...)

This is terrible but when I look at the Chew ads it just seems like a parade of stereotypes. The gay guy, the sassy black woman, the fat guy, the blonde, the bald guy who also might be gay because why not...

I saw it. They asked him who JR shot. Jacob said it could have been anyone and he probably left town or he might have shot himself. I doubt Jacob knows. They mentioned how he had played JR for 8 years and then went on to his return to B&B as Rick and how he had played that part before. Then the rest was a recipe of his...and he prepared it. It felt like Jacob Young's Chew show.tongue.png

I wonder if ABC will release the premiere ratings for The Chew tomorrow gloating improvement in certain markets like CBS did with The Talk despite sucky ratings.

I predict he'll be the first co-host to part ways with this show and the network.

Did someone mention The Flu? Don't give ABC any more ideas, that'll be their new lifestyle show once the SPEW fails. A health and wellness show! They're just recycling ideas at this point!

Yeah, really sad to come home and not see my DVR recording at 1 p.m. I am curious about Spew reviews/ratings. I won't watch it or tweet about it but I really hope it is as bad as it actually looks. All I know is Whoopi is eating Italian food for episode two. Woo hoo.

I think that will be Mario "I'm not even going to be there" Batali, but I can see Clinton being first. They put him in the sacrificial lamb role. No wonder he seemed terrified.

Dr. Oz's killjoy daughter must be pitching for that.

Everyone else on the show: Food is fun!

Dr. Oz Daughter: Food is medicine.

Everyone else: Ooh sister friend I love these recipes!!

Dr. Oz Daughter: I cured polio with onion dip.

Everyone else: Don't you just love this great new thing we made, called a grilled cheese sandwich?

Dr. Oz Daughter: If you're stranded in the wilderness, licorice sticks will guide you home!!!

I also got a nice little chuckle out of that, *permanently*, folks.

You're "whoop there it is" reference has made my day, I love your totally unexpected pop culture references.

    • There are so many beats that could be played with relationships and history b/w  characters. But cast/set restrictions (and loust writing) are destroying that. Really liked seeing Jack and Nikki catch up. Trouble is, in the current version of Y&R it had to continue the entire episode. Hearing Lily talk on the phone to Maddie-how much better if we had actually seen the kids during Cane's return. Would the original actors return for a short stint? Maybe not and perhaps they don't feel a recast would work. All of this could have been avoided by letting BF be a new character. For the amount of difference it's made , there was really no need to bring back Cane.
    • Zeman said Marland created Barbara Jean Spencer, they called her Barbara until she and Monty decided Bobbie would be better as a nickname. It was almost Barbie IIRC, and they didn’t think that was right. She also has said on more than one occasion that she came in during the transition and Monty didn’t hire her, but ended up liking her. So Scotty and his friend must have been talking about her. This episode was fascinating. I am so happy it was shared. I can absolutely see why the show was in trouble. It’s lifeless and old fashioned as far as dialogue and some of the staging. Monty herself said she threw those episodes out, so that makes me think they were even worse. Which really made sense to me watching this because I only saw a glimpse of Monty in the less static scene with Rick moving all around while talking to David and the same type of staging with Scotty, Laura, and his friend’s name I cannot remember right now. That long ass scene through Monica’s eyes was very old fashioned as far as style. I can also see why the ratings started rising relatively quickly. Most of the earliest Monty shows I have seen are a few months later, and the show is very different. It moves, the characters are more intense, the staging has movement, and it feels more modern for the time. By the time you get to 1979 it’s really rocking and I totally get it in a way I didn’t before just from seeing this. Genie was so young to play that story with creepy Hamilton. And Kin sure was cute as nice guy Scotty.
    • Kate previously shadow directed or directed some scenes? on Days before GH, so it's been a passion of hers for a bit.
    • Who is monitoring her spending? Maybe the upshot is that Leslie is spending way beyond her means and she'll end up broke again. The house will be repossessed etc, Part of her comeuppance.
    • Kimberly McCullough shadowed at GH and completed an ABC directing program, but I don’t believe she was ever credited as director or given an episode of her own to do. One of the reasons why she got work so quickly was because she had multi-cam knowledge from years on soaps.
    • Do not apologize for this. I was thinking just today it's bringing me fond memories of when I was a teen of Angie and Jessie. Jenny and Greg, Philip and Beth. And although they were teens, Steve and Betsy.  I like a good teen story.
    • Yeah Suzanne mentions Y&R here  (no spoilers in the article) https://www.tvinsider.com/1227485/days-of-our-lives-suzanne-rogers-anniversary-maggie-storylines-mickey-victor/
    • I wonder if she may be transitioning to behind the scenes.  How many GH actors have also directed while acting on the show?
    • Despite my wish that Ric get revenge on Alexis and the gang, I really enjoyed their scenes today. RH and NLG have honestly never lost their chemistry with one another. Seems like Carly genuinely let herself give into Brennan today and regret it. Also just cause I smoked earlier it, it randomly hit me for the first time in over a decade. They had Michael murder Claudia played by the actress that played all of the most important early Michael stories. Kinda twisted lol
