Why does he shave his armpits? I hate the fact that so many men feel the need to shave in general, but armpits??

It boggles the mind. I was pissed to see Scott Clifton shaved on B&B yesterday, but this is totally beyond the pale! Even if he never EVER said "I'm a big ol queen", that scene right there says it all. no straight man would ever shave his pits.

These days I'm not so sure. It seems like this fetish about lack of body hair is so pervasive.

I shave my armpits because I live in hot ass Louisiana, and if you don't get rid of some of that moss, no deodorant in the world will save you. My mother actually forced me to start doing it when I was like 14-15.

Though I still find it weird that he brought his own mother in to interview and extensively talked about his own life, the part where they discussed Carter's suicide as well as the Amazing Grace segment were really great. Also weird that Kathy Griffin has been on twice in 6 episodes but I enjoy her. I guess, in the end, this was a very good way for the viewers to get a lot more exposition from Anderson and maybe connect with him more.

The upcoming week looks interesting.

I have to say I really laughed when Anderson said there was a placenta under each audience member's seat.

"You get a placenta, you get a placenta, you get a placenta!"

Many of my straight friends shave their bodies completely. It's not that uncommon, really.

It really is--I know straight guys who shave their legs (yuck)--but armpits still seem like an aread guys feel they should have a bit of hair. But things really have changed that way--in fact body hair now seems to be somewhat coming back more with gay men than straight (who tend to follow gay trends about ten years later lol--ie thew 80s gay thing of shaving your body which took a while to witch over to straights). The majority of straihgt porn stars now are shaved too--which may influence straight men shaving

I agree--I found it a great show I hate to admit EXCEPT I hate tht Anderson tells personal stories of him as a child, seemed to almost be prodding his mom to say how much she loved him--yet won't come out. Again, I don't think you have to come out, but when you use your family that way--even when it's an important issue like suicide--it seems disingenuous when you don't mention a partner. Same with the awful lovefest when Sarah Jessica Parker was on and they laughed about how much they go out for dinner etc.
