Jacob Young was unspeakably bad on GH, but especially in 2001/Endgame. Everyone just [!@#$%^&*] about in the tunnels during that story was idiotic.

The original story, IIRC, had to do with a bioweapon spreading throughout PC following an explosion which would destroy the hospital and allow Jill to redo all the sets. Angel, her pet character, would've been heavily involved, I believe. All of that was shelved due to 9/11.

Lydia!!! I had almost completely forgotten about her until now. She had short dark hair. Wasn't Stefan trying to arrange a marriage between her and Nikolas in an attempt to keep him away from Emily? I can see her in my mind's eye.

Actually, I wouldn't have minded Lydia sticking around. I think she could have been effectively used on the canvas.

Yep.  And truthfully, I don’t blame her.  I absolutely hated the renovation and colors done by Riche before PC launched.

That version of the nurses station always just looked like a giant empty room to me, and the colors were too dark.  I get they wanted to make it easier to film, which is why the iconic rounded column was removed, and IIRC the nurses station was built on hydraulics so they could move it around the set to look like other floors, etc by where it was placed and changing the magnetic elevator numbers.

I didn’t love Jill’s green tiles all that much either when she slowly got to revamp the sets.  But her big renovation that Valentini has tweaked since he got there is a pretty great set.

Correct on all points as I recall, the hospital blowing up was the big finale.

Angel.  What a terrible character.  And Jacob was awful as Lucky back then.  And not just because Jonathan Jackson had been so good- he was just awful.  Loved him on AMC though.

Yes, there was money involved he was trying to get his hands on for Nikolas.  And the ridiculous mock trial held by Luke.  There were some real clunkers during the Guza/Pratt era of the show.

Frank Valentini's expansion of the General Hospital set has been incredible. It's my fave hospital set from any of the soaps, and [finally] getting updated patient rooms was overdue.

Based on clips I've seen, his version of Lucky seemed like a watered down Rick Forrester who didn't come from a fashion house family. If only the writing had suited him more.

I also would call it more like trying too hard instead of phoning it in.  He just got more and more over the top when it was a big scene.

The funny thing is that he got quite hammy when Genie left in the early 1980’s too.  She does have a tendency to make him ground Luke.  I thought he hammed it up quite a bit with Jane.

    • This better be something, because as I said, so far it's just cliches and stereotypes -- the story we've heard a thousand times about the homeless person who doesn't want a home and prefers to live on the streets.
    • @rsclassicfanforever thank you very much for the recent uploads of season 13 containing some episodes that were skipped or glitchy on YouTube!  I had a look at 3172 though and there is no audio for most of it? Would you have a copy with complete audio? Fingers crossed! Thanks again!

    • I like Margaret well enough in what I've seen of her as Paige - she is green but she has real star power.  I agree about the actor who plays Brian. He's...mostly just there. Not bad but not great.  My main issue is with the guy who plays Owen. He's just not appealing to me. I can believe Nola being obsessed with him, but he's draining to watch.  I'm surprised people objected to the quasi-incest elements as it wasn't anything that new for soaps.  Speaking of Kim, here's a rare episode of an anthology show she did called The Evil Touch.

    •   I get what you're both saying, and I think the show was lucky to have even made it that long, but I think they could have still maintained a certain audience - Second Chances did before the earthquake. CBS was an older network anyway. I think the premise of Knots was still usable, it was more the characters who were a problem - many of the older figures were played out. If the show had done a better job building up its younger cast instead of making so many poor choices in the late '80s and early '90s, they could have kept things going a little longer.
    • I wish I cared about the homeless lady as much as everyone else seems to. After the nothing burger that was the lawsuit, this just feels like another boring Naomi storyline at Orphy Genes since she has no office.
    • That's great to hear. Thanks. I wish that was more readily available.
    • Just learned that Clifton Davis wrote this song!  I had no idea.

    • I think even if Marland had wanted to write more for Sara/Adam, his hands would have been tied as Robert Milli was one of the actors dumped by P&G due to his age.  From the bits and pieces I've seen of that period, Sara does have a key role in the Carrie plot, and Marland briefly gave her son Tim a more important part. I'm not sure if they just gave up on Tim once Kevin Bacon left or if they never really cared. I did not even know for many years that there was an actor in the part after Kevin...and then not one, but two. The Spauldingfield video on Tim doesn't even show the last actor (Nigel Reed), which kind of says it all. Anyway, I do get the sense Marland has some use for Sara, or for Millette. It's only after he goes that she is dumped. Of course he didn't ever hire her for his other shows, so maybe I'm wrong. (then again he never hired Geraldine Court either and he seemed very fond of her) Ann is an odd character to me as she is a proto-Lillian in being defined by pining for a Bauer brother and being involved in the death of one of their wives. I do wonder what else they could have done with her. She was friends with Diane, wasn't she? They could have had Diane manipulate her against Mike, I suppose.
    • Yassss....come on Maurice and Brandon...give us nothing!!! Wow, their need to develop their craft shone like a blinding light this episode. Brandon in his Martin and Smitty scenes sounded like he was reading and the facial expressions were giving Disney Channel. He did much better against Maurice in the Martin v Ted scenes. Now, Teddd-dyy (Dana's voice) was just flat. I watched the episode just now after reading the comment on here that Maurice needs to stop swaying, and now I can't unsee it. Has it really been this bad all along?  Ambyr carries. I don't need to say anymore. I am kind of excited to see this Kat/Tomas/Eva stuff play out.  Bill is such a dick to Dani. Like that's the mother of your children that you cheated on with your daughter's best friend but you look to take those low blows. Lord! When he said that thing about it being obvious he didn't care about Dani anymore since he was the one that walked out...that was cold. I even felt for Dani. Bill definitely is all over the spectrum. You can see a villain possibly surfacing, but you also see this great father. The elder Duprees move a little funny. I'm wondering what that is all about. Are they just overly protective matriarch and patriarch because they think it's what's best for their family, or are they afraid their secrets will come out or there's something more sinister there. Why would Vernon want to keep that information from Martin?  I hope something interesting comes out of this June stuff, but as of right now, I'm not too invested. It's not helping my interest on Naomi or Jacob either. However, tge actress playing Naomi has comes a long way from day one.
