Members AdelaideCate007
This was my thought too. I can at least understand the rational and sentiment behind it. Whatever Frank's faults are, he's been committed to keeping those 80s and 90s vets involved and tied to the show, even if it's just in stupid stories or yearly drop in visits. I also think all the losses over the past few years have made that even more so. I guess they thought this would be a nice bonus for Robert and Holly's happily ever after but it's too bad it makes zero sense and that Sasha isn't more dynamic. But tbh, I still don't know when Holly was supposed to have given birth to Ethan or how that made sense timeline wise. I've just given up making sense of her years offscreen. I like Cody as Mac's son too, and I like Cody from what I've seen. It's just stupid to make him Dominique's son since it makes no sense and they've literally none nothing with that backstory, as far as I've seen. Feels like he could have been Mac's son with literally anybody and gotten the exact same story. Did they ever say why he had to be hidden away anyway?
Members Vee
I can't be fucked to check tbqh lol. I think it might have been foster care? Who knows. Like you and titan above have said, Mac's past is a rich vein of history to tap. Instead they did something that is just not viable.
Members carolineg
Yes. Dominique was scared of Leopold Taub (her husband at the time) hurting him. So the Bells adopted him and he worked in the stables at Serenity? Whatever Dominique/Leopold's estate was called. But also had time to go to camp with Dante and BLQ.
Members Liberty City
Mhmm, a camp that despite meeting, they never acknowledged it when Brook Lynn was hired by Carly to seduce him away from Lulu.
Members carolineg
The show was very clear with AL's Brook that she never had a prior romantic relationship with Dante. Thus, it would be very difficult for her to seduce Dante.
Members dc11786
I'm sure that's what was said onscreen, but I don't think that makes sense either. I don't think Dominique and Mac even had sex until after Leopold had been murdered. There is a big plot point in January, 1992, where Dominique sees a therapist to help get past her sexual trauma that she endured while being married to Leopold before she and Mac could sleep together. Then, when they do have sex, they literally set the house on fire because the blanket is too close to the fireplace. Maybe they had slept together prior, and Monty/Grover just played up Leopold/Dominique's toxic marriage.
Members carolineg
Yes. That was just what was said on screen. It doesn't make any timeline sense. I think we are supposed to believe Cody was a product of a retconned affair Dominique had with Mac while she was married to Leopold. I guess even if you ignore the timing issues I don't understand why Dom never went back to get Cody once Leopold was dead and the danger had passed. Or, Idk, at least tell Mac about Cody once she knew she was dying. It's not like Dominique didn't have easy access to Mac living in the same town and all. I don't think the show even attempted to explain that. I believe the initial story/con was that Cody was Leo/Dominique's child and Dom rejected him because of that. It seemed to me Cody always knew Leo wasn't his father. He just wanted the Taub's necklace/fortune. Maybe someone else remembers better, but I don't recall any reasoning for Dominique to just let Cody grow up with the Bells instead of her or Mac.
Members titan1978
The whole thing annoys me because they just do these paternity reveals and they don’t really lead to more story. I would have brought on Serena, play wanting his share of the money (and maybe ultimately proving he is Mac’s but not Don’s or leaving as it stands now I could go either way). She would have been the cash influx at Deception, not Sonny (which has gone nowhere so far). Cody is just kind of there, and he’s being wasted. Give them something to do!
Members DRW50
This OLTL episode has a GH promo at 16 minutes with Terri Webber and Mark Dante. I think this is Michael Delano. Is this the first clip we have of him? Please register in order to view this content
Members victorlord75
I wasn't aware there were any GH clips of Michael Delano playing Mark Dante. I recall my sister commenting on how cute this Mark was, and when Mr. Delano showed up later on "Rhoda" playing Johnny Venture, my sister would always bring up his GH role. I guess GH behind the scenes at the time was probably a real [!@#$%^&*] show. My memory has become cloudy, but I'd swear that when they brought the Tom Baldwin character back around the same period, it was the original Tom Baldwin, sporting a long, scraggly beard. It was only for one day. But then suddenly Don Chastain was playing Tom, which explains why it didn't work. I could be confused though Maybe Don Chastain just looked like Paul Savior if he wore a fake beard. I increasingly doubt myself.
Members Contessa Donatella
I'm about to be 74 years old & my memory used to be like a steel trap. No matter what it was, if I saw it or heard it, I remembered every single detail about it down to the last drop. That is no longer the case & it's just something I have to live with because it's a natural function of both aging & having so many things already filed away in my head.

Members Paul Raven
Delano and Jim Yorke played Mark briefly before Gordon took over. I read years ago in SOD from that time, that they were just placeholders until Gordon could assume the role, but that might be the whole story. Does anyone have more info??
Members DRW50
I could see that being true. I can't think of another reason why they would have let Delano go. Admittedly it's just a very short clip, but he's a handsome guy with screen presence, seems to be an OK actor too.
Members Vee
I hesitate to post any more of his work all over the forum, so I'll just say thank you yet again to @GymnastGuy for his GH 1967 uploads today. If you don't know where to find it, ask someone!
