And I love that it's still used so frequently and a legacy character in Cameron even works there. Did they ever try to phase it out? I was watching some clips from the late 2000s/early 2010s a few weeks ago and characters were frequenting some ugly little (I mean tiny) coffee place for a while.

I'm not sure I remember that one? I do know Julian's embarrassing pub they tried to give him when they pretended he was going straight as a good man. That is still around and I think Phyllis, Sonny and Nina's buddy from Nixon Falls owns it now.

It's 2023! Learn to timestamp!

In all seriousness though I have no fùcking idea where this is supposed to be. I have a very very vague recollection of it. I don't think it was seen again after the Guza regime ended. I don't think it ever really supplanted Kelly's. It reminds me a loooottt of the dual coffee shop set used on both AMC and OLTL 2.0 lol (which was a lot bigger). I'll have to rewatch them again.

IIRC, Tammy the former sex worker ended up running it for Luke and Bobbie for a period of time before she was phased out.  Not sure if Bobbie still owns it or not.

I can’t remember if anyone in the Dillon/Georgie era worked there or lived there.  I think the apartments upstairs haven’t been referenced in quite a while.  Does anyone know when the exterior became such a focal point for scenes?

I have really fond memories of the early 90’s younger characters hanging out and working there, and Ruby being involved with them.  Especially Brenda.

I definitely get a grin every time I see Kelly's being in use. Because there was a stretch of time it was kept alive only by reference from the characters than actually seen. And the fact that Cameron works there...like his mother before him...warms my heart.

I really want to say that Bobbie still does own it...unless she sold it off during the period of time when I was not regularly viewing.

And I feel like the apartments upstairs were referenced within the last year or two, but don't quote me on that.

    • I stopped watching Another World in 1990. Simply, lost interest in the show.  I had watched the show from 1973 to 1990. The 90 minute show started the decline of AW.  NBC panicked with expanding AW due to the GH hoopla. As mentioned above, 1982 was a trainwreck for AW.  The introduction of the Shea family, the movie storyline involving Jamie, and Steve Frame favoring Rachel over Alice. The writers went into that direction due to the forgettable performance of Linda Borgeson.

    • Ive seen that theory thrown out but the one thing against it is that Leslie and her family lived in Chicago. She only came back to DC last year after her husband died. Unless they say Alan made a trip to DC and died while away, she wouldnt know about that. However I do think the angle of her finding out that Martin was involved could work as that gives her leverage against Bill too for covering it up. She'd want to get revenge on him by threatening to have him disbarred
    • What a good write-up @Errol! Nice seeing the nod to Duplaix's lead.
    • The Egypt location shoot was cancelled because of the Achille Lauro cruise ship hijacking

    • And, to me it is a little bit hilarious that AW fans all over continue to refer to it as Egyptian Dust Recently elsewhere I've been running polls. When did you stop watching AW or What storyline caused you to stop watching AW. You may be interested to know that sticking it out till the bitter end is winning by a landslide. Next highest vote getter is - no surprise - Frankie's murder. So that covers like 60% & next 20%. Then the votes drop way down to 10% and well below but a wide array of reasons are given, including but not limited to  Justine Lumina Rachel having twins at her age, how ridiculous Mac's death the 90 minute show firing JC, George R & Dwyer Hmm, I know there are a few more, in the 1%-3% range but I cannot think of what they are. Sorry, my bad. Should have made notes but I didn't know I would be posting about it. LOL!!
    • A kind angel has added both episodes to the vault (UK Diva TV broadcast version).
    • Yes, I think that is the most likely situation.  TPTB were unhappy with the offer(s) they got from the tourism board in Finland, and decided the trip was going to be too expensive for P&G/NBC to finance alone.   I would also speculate a similar situation likely occurred a few years later with the planned location shoot in Egypt, which was also cancelled after the storyline had already started, and changed to Arizona.
