You are correct. All My Children and Family Feud were the two daytime programs most responsible for ABC's ascendency in 1978. In fact, Family Feud was the #1 daytime program overall for a good bit of 1978, even topping the soaps. Although GH and OLTL were improving this year, it was 1979 before GH began to make gains significant enough to displace AMC.

Variety April 17th 1974

NBC-TV's "Celebrity Sweepstakes," debuting on the daytime sked during the week of April 1-5, ranked second for the week with a 7 rating and 28 share. CBS' "Search for Tomorrow" led during the 12: 30 p.m. time period with a 7.5 and 30 share, with ABC's "Split Second" logging a 6.2 and 24 share.

Hollywood Squares led the national Nielsendaytime ratings for the last two weeks, topping out the growing surge of game shows during the past six months towards usurping the long-held domination of soapoperas as the cornerstone of daytime. "Squares" led the week of Jan. 17-21 with an 11.4 and 42 share

From the February 1979 issue of Daytime TV - ratings were usually about 3 months behind, so I estimate these to be from November 1978. Or, if anyone knows for sure when the cast changes that are shown were effective, that also helps to figure out when the ratings were from.
