Not to go all Mrs. Jenkins again but is there any chance we can let up on the personal poster hate boners? Y'all know how I feel about Zendall and I OFTEN disagree with the poster in question but the reality is that AMC is off the air and we don't know if it will ever see the light of day again. There's no reason to keep rehashing these old fan wars because nobody cares. Zack, Kendall, Greenlee, Annie, JR, Babe, etc...are all gone. Whatever is causing the Joan Collins 'tudes, deal with it. Embrace the pain, spank your inner moppet, whatever, but get the [!@#$%^&*] over it.

Well I'll tell you why I'm pitching a major tent. It's really quite obvious isn't it?? The "poster in question" relishes at bringing "info" that proves in their opinion AMC will not be continuing and PP is a hot mess and they don't know what they are doing (with only AMC mind you) and LH did ...and Cam is.....and and and...... You get the gist.

While at the same time WE ALL KNOW if TK and or AM were the ones championing PP then "said poster" would be singing a completely different tune. If THEY took Cam's place as "cheerleader" THEN AMC/PP would surely be a bonafide hit just waiting to take flight to the sky of the online world under the unstoppable star power of the ever so popular poll winning Zendall.

Imagine if TK bothered to contact his fans(lol what a crazy thought) and was the one to pass along the DW news ...it would be the greatest thing ever and TK would be oh so wonderful for passing the info along.

ALSO at the same time being even MORE ridiculous is the notion from the same said poster that OLTL online is a sure bet & will be a success. Hmmm? Why? Apparently a handful of cast members that have signed on guarantee it? Are they are not waiting for the same AFTRA deal??? What makes OLTL different than AMC??

Why paint that there is a problem with PP when it comes to AMC but not when it comes to OLTL?? That doesn't make sense, so one might assume the problem is with AMC & not PP. So , from that, one might assume in that poster's opinion AMC is in dire trouble b/c Zen is not there to save it .....while OLTL is a go...... and go figure one of the people from their couple from OLTL has already signed on with PP. (PENDING the SAME AFTRA deal)

It just REEKS of hypocrisy and playing favorites and overall annoyance. It's the same ISH that made me HATE & LOATH Zendall in the first place & it's still coming from the same place .....their FANS! I always said I may have been able to tolerate Zen if it wasn't for the "neener neener ha ha my couple is the best" B.S> that comes from the majority of their fans. Just as I may be able to tolerate an objectionable opinion about AMC2.0 from them but we're not getting it....we're getting ...'It's doomed w/o ZEN'

So STILL to this day even W/O Zen or an AMC to see M-F....it's the same crap.....Zen is the be all and end all of AMC. They are the only thing about AMC that matters, or is worth anything.... there is no AMC w/o Zen to sustain it. Please GMAFB. It's the same thing the born & incubated my Zen hate.

So Mrs. Jenkins you may just have to sit on the stoop and dodge bullets b/c as long as we keep seeing how a Zenless AMC will never make it...LH is an idiot...Cam is a.... blah blah blah & low & behold OLTL will be a go & be on schedule ...... it's bound to rub some the wrong way.

Hope that explains a bit of my frustration and why IMO we still are seeing the "fan wars"... as you put it.

Firstly, nobody needs to explain anything to "marceline" about these "fan wars." Mrs. Jenkins is long overdue her death by "accidental" crossfire, as it is.

Secondly, you are correct. It has less to do with "fan wars" than it does have to do with that woman spewing her biased opinion of failure all over this Prospect Park project simply because her obsessions aren't a part of it.

In my opinion, this pious Mrs. Jenkins approach this other woman seems to be having in regards to these "fan wars" is in direct opposition to her opinion when it comes to those crazy fans that give the sane soap fans a bad name. You know -- the ones who can't distinguish reality from fantasy. I guess because the craziness seems to agree with her -- for now.

I understand your frustration. I have it too. Trust. But what I'm seeing is that we have no show to talk about so people are just going crazy. Yes we have the doomsayers who for whatever reason don't want this to happen. We also have a contingent who's so in love with the concept of PP that they want to marry it and of course there's always going to be people who rather bitch about posters than talk about the show but in this case we have no show so people are rehashing old stuff. It's like Thanksgiving dinner where the turkey isn't done yet so everybody is just loaded up on liquor and pissed off.

But I guess I'll just have take your suggestion and sit up on the roof. LOL! It's kind of peaceful up here and I can hear the music from the park.

I don't think it is productive to be anything but optimistic about PP and online. There can be no denying that online is the future, and that even that is just the beginning of a marriage of TVs and the internet. Just look at the TVs being built with hulu, youtube and netflix built in. Then look at the networks and their continuing collapsing ratings across the board. Yeah, AMC and OLTL could stay on TV and paddle for their lives in a sea of 1.0 ratings, but this is something new that not only can save their shows but might show the way how to save all the shows. It's not guaranteed but it is a shot using technology that was not available to Passions, Port Charles or anything that went before them.

Well the mags confirm it this week: Gary Tomlin is indeed in negotiations to be AMC's EP.

Frank Valentini is now Brian Frons, hiring his washed-up unemployed friends with a track record of failure for a show he could probably care less about. Why didn't the oh-so-amazing and oh-so-visionary Frank Valentini look for someone like himself, circa 2002, on AMC's team, someone like Enza Dolce, to maybe let step up and take the reigns?

In all seriousness what real successes are there in Tomlin's producing career?

Also, there is no deal between PP and Lorraine Broderick. Enter Chris Whitesell...

I think Tomlin is being considered because of his budgetary assets. I don't think he's worse than JHC but I am sort of bummed about LB. I don't know how well Whitesell would write for AMC or if his and Tomlin's styles would fit. I did like Days under their watch for a year or two and they were able to transition the show in some respects so who knows.

    • I totally agree with this, as most of you seem to. Mary Carney was at least competent and reasonably likable; I just feel like she barely had anything of substance to do before she was abruptly given the hook. And I get the backstory of Kathleen Tolan having done a play with Helen Gallagher, but...at any point did they ever actually READ her before they greenlit her? Because...OOF. First time I saw her on SoapNet was right when this GODAWFUL actress named Charity Rahmer played Belle on Days of Our Lives for all of three weeks before she was mercifully recast; her line readings were straight out of a Charlie Brown special. I remember thinking Kathleen Tolan could have played her mother! In the Frank/Jill/Delia triangle, Delia WAS the one who was cheated on, so I got why she was upset and thought it was perfectly valid in theory at least, but of course it was blown up to Wagnerian proportions including falls involving staircases and tricycles. But with Pat/Faith/Delia I had no sympathy for her...especially because it was mainly with Catherine Hicks's Faith and I really liked her.
    • I was going through those episodes from 1984 and early 1985 before they were taken down. Some of the older characters, like Don and even Tom, looked a little out of place, like they were on the wrong show. But the newer characters were fun. It's too bad they lost the character of Melissa. I guess Jennifer took her long-term place on the canvas.

    • The black and white episodes of the show are very special. An atmosphere the color run loses. Dark Shadows was filmed live-on-tape. They could do a retake but it would be very expensive. I think there was a claim that if actors wanted a retake they would curse. There was also a rumor that at one point Joan Bennett accidentally said "Hollywood" instead of "Collinwood" and that necessitated a retake.

    • It is a shame that more characters didn't go the ATWT-Barbara route and make the ingénue into an antagonist. Sort of like they did with Liza/Hogan/Sunny, less successfully. It is a credit to ATWT's creativity that breathed life in that character for years after she was fighting off bulls in Spain.  But, a character like Liza can only have so many true loves and high jinks on the high seas.  They need another reason to be in the story. Liza's wealth, as well as her acumen to see through fraud, was fertile ground for tons of stories.  But, I feel like the business stories for Liza were always about her being easily overwhelmed, rather than exploring things like her leadership and managerial skills.
    • STFU!! Dante!!! This nonsense of blaming Gio is just ridiculous! Alexis and Lucky are becoming so unlikable. Why are the writers writing these characters so poorly?
    • Keith still comes off younger to me. I thought he wasn't that bad for his first day.
    • To be fair, they were only recently step-siblings.  Their parents married within the past few years.  And, Draper's father Ansel was not coy about the fact that he married Raven's mother, Nadine, for the money. And, Raven's sort of sticking it to April that not only can she have a baby (April has a heart condition that makes it difficult for her to carry a child to term), she could also have April's man, if she wanted him.
