ANd yes I'm playing catch up--that timeline is GREAT (though I'm not sure AMC is remotely one of the more histrionic soaps...) That's an error saying that Joe had a son called Joey back at the start, right? LOL Do they mean Bobby? I also seem to have blanked out Annie accidentally killing her best friend--who?

Now you know David saved Di, so he could have her on the side in case he needed to harvest some organs for Dixie. Di didnt die!

My favorite passage in the timeline is the one for Donna.

➽ Sixteen-year-old

Donna Beck arrives in the

hospital after being thrown

out of a car by her pimp.

She elopes with Chuck

Tyler, her doctor. Donna

becomes convinced she’s

pregnant, but it turns out

her pimp sterilized her

years before. Donna

undergoes reverse

sterilization, then is hit by

a train and forgets the past

three years of her life,

including Chuck, despite

being pregnant with his

child—who is stillborn.

This is where soaps lost their charm. They don't have such crazy stories anymore. The most interesting item from the last page (2000s) is the one about Erica's son. I love the fact that not only is Donna sterile, not only is she hit by a train, but she gets amnesia and her miracle baby dies anyway. That doesn't happen on soaps today. No one gets hit by trains, no one gets sterilized or gets amnesia...no one gets nothing.

Jake = Joey

Jake changed his name when Michael Lowry took over the role.

Yes I know that tongue.png It just seems weird to make it sound lik ehe had been on the show since 1970

Just making sure you knew. You did have a problem understanding the difference between Sea City and C City and Center City, which is soooooo obvious.

It's ludicrous to think DC is ever coming back full time, even if they shot the show in his backyard.

ITA. Although his backyard would at least look more like PV than that park.

ETA: Coincidentally, DC did an interview with my local paper where he pretty much states that he retired by choice and not because of the move. (I didn't realize he was from Ohio!)

"My feelings were ameliorated by the timing of the announcement -- a year after my formal retirement," Canary, 73, said of the "All My Children" cancellation. "I felt a great loss for the other actors and crew . . . but my own personal retirement in 2010 led to a long sigh of relief to be rid of the burden of four or five shows a week stacked on my shoulders by Adam and Stuart. But I miss them and was grateful to be there at the end."

I had heard one of the reasons they killed off Stuart was because DC was tired of the 5 days a week grind. Now they could have easily written Stuart off or killed him off differently but that was one of the rumors going around at the time. He's had a lengthy and respectable career and I still say next to Zaslow the best actor around over the years. Yes even over those that are more celebrated.
