What's wrong with her wanting more money and less hours? give the woman what she wants, it's not like she's not worth it. She's a hot commodity. PP needs her, she doesn't need them.

All I know is that if PP lets this become about Susan Lucci then they're hurting themselves. People know Susan Lucci - they don't know PP. I am going to assume that they aren't behind any pressure tactics, because that would be stupid. Susan Lucci can continue to make a decent living out of being Susan Lucci and even being Erica Kane, no matter what happens with AMC (look at Joan Collins and Alexis). Goading her or baiting her does no good whatsoever.

IMO it sound like LaLucci is ready to move on, she's a hot commodity, she'd be better off snapping up something in primetime, maybe she can become a recurring player on Hot in Cleveland

I find it funny how people find her demands ridiculous. Can I say the same for Tony Geary who works a lot less time for the same money at GH?

  • Member

Possible, but it seems doubtful to me. Otherwise why isn't she trying to negotiate with them instead of turning them down cold?

We heard one piece of leaked information/gossip. It didn't clearly say what the full issue was, or that they weren't persuing other negotiations.

Exactly! She stuck with this show for 41 years, she could have left for primetime years ago and didn't. I'm starting to wonder if PP can afford to even put both shows online at the same time

She's probably been offered other projects. So why the heck shouldn't she be selective. I don't see anything unreasonable about her demands. Its like people getting pissed at Charlie Sheen last year asking for a raise. You know what so what. If the demand and need is there why not.

Whats odd is PP putting all their eggs in Susans court. Based on Walt Willey's tweet it doesn't even sound as if PP has been in contact with any other cast members at this point.

I so agree. My problem isn't if she stays is go but she pretty much spent the last week slamming Frons for some of the same stuff she is now doing. And that leaves a bitter taste for me.

If PP really want Lucci to come on board, leaking this story to Deadline was a bad idea. These are ABC-style tactics all over again.

Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

I wouldn't call Lucci a hot commodity. If she has so many offers coming her way she wouldn't be angling for a primetime development deal, she'd already have one. Lucci is nothing without AMC and I think this might have been a negotiating ploy gone wrong. But AMC is nothing without Lucci, so they should have found a way to make this work.

The PR people are earning their money today.

La Lucci shouldn't sign without the primetime deal.

Would PP actually just drop the show though? haven't they already paid for the sets and leasing it, etc?

They wouldn't drop it. They're paying money. So we'll see some sort of All My Children incarnation.

That's what I think, but it seems like many naysayers have already jumped on the "it's not gonna happen" bandwagon.

Oh and I'm thrilled Erika and to a lesser extent Kassie are staying on with OLTL. I was hoping we'd be rid of John too--Easton is by all reports a nice guy, but the character has just sucked up, and sucked, so much on OLTL for so long now it seems... And I like Ted King but Tomas is a nothing character. Unless they somehow make him relevent, and not just for bringing RH as Todd back, he seems like a waste.

Yeah I agree about the CS thing, if you're hot, you're hot and why not be paid what you're worth?

Charlie Sheen wasn't hot so much as he had become a freak show.

Exactly. They've already made significant investment. That's why I think this is a negotiating tactic.
