This part makes me feel ALOT better

In a separate interview with TVGuide.com last week, Nixon said there was no question that the stories of Pine Valley's finest should not draw to a close so much as leave you wanting to know more. "Wrapping up the run on ABC wasn't as important to me as keeping the show interesting!" she said with a laugh. "We did not wrap everything up with people fading into the sunset with happy endings. It's a continued story and the last episode, we think, will make people want to come back very much to get some answers!" (Viewers can, however, count out another natural disaster hitting Pine Valley. "Oh, no, no, no," Nixon said. "True to what I feel has been part of the character of All My Children is that the cliff-hangers are related to characters and personal emotions. I don't hanker after tornadoes!")

Yeah good for her. This sounds more along the lines of what she originally said before PP entered the picture. I am glad the rumor of the Moldavian type of ending some were saying PP wanted(another false rumor) is not in the cards. This is why I love Agnes Nixon. I just wish more of the original showrunners who loved these shows as much were still around. I just wish her love and influence had been welcomed at ABC all along and I have no words for what OLTL has turned into without her influence or the type of cliffhanger RC will come up with.

They don't care about that Ron LOL. I'm still trying to figure out why ABC would care what PP wants and why they would give into anything they ask ;)

Ugh...cliffhangers!! So what about those who can't follow it online?? They are going to be left in limbo...way to go PP.

The fact is AMC is not ending. Sure its ending on ABC but the show itself is not going away. When Edge of Night moved did people expect the show to end on one network and then start all over again on ABC? I dont see how this is different. Me I hope there are some real changes at AMC with PP. Time will tell

Well ABC does have a vested interest in these shows being successful online don't they. And why would they care at this point. According to most of the online community, ABC hasn't cared about these shows for years why would they suddenly care now.

Right on, Maude Aggie!

I dunno, I love Aggie, but I don't see how you can set up an entire cast with life altering, to the point where you could lose more than half your cast...and not have some kind of disaster. I just don't see how you can set this up, where it makes sense that some personal emotions have lead to what could likely be a mass exodus of the cast.

We already know we're losing: Amanda, Jake, JR, Angie, Greenelee (RB has been out the door for years)....so that's 5 right there who they have to set up these endings for.

I might rule out a tornado, but I ain't ruling out a bomb, a fire or a couple of masked gun men.

How 'bout a blackout? Everyone's at the hospital when the lights go out. Then, when they come back on (in the PP premiere episode), those who remain will be left wondering where the others went.

:D

Or...

Aggie pulls a trick out of her own bag (yep, she's done this before), puts everyone on a plane...and then crashes it.

LOL I love how she gets a swipe in their about the tornado's. I guess she still hasn't forgotten the damage Pratt did to her show

Since I do not anticipate that AMC will be available in any form (be it the online PP network or any cable channel that may take it on) in Canada, I would certainly prefer several character and emotion-based cliffhangers than one big Moldavian massacre-type cliffhanger (although all Nixon has ruled out is a natural disaster; a Moldavian massacre scenario is not a natural disaster. JR going wild with a gun or putting a bomb in Bianca and Marissa's house and then running back in at the last moment when he realizes AJ is in there and then *kaboom* would still fit Nixon's "character and personal emotions" criteria).

I just really hope AN and LB gave at least some consideration to the fact that a lot of people who have been viewers for decades will probably not even have the choice of whether or not to continue watching the show.

I'm just not understanding how you set up something like this for every friggin character. OMG. Get me off this train wreck now if that's where it's going.

Why not. THey can recast those characters they want to keep. There is not one actor aside from Lucci and maybe some of the long term vets like Angie Jessie and Tad that can't be replaced. Kendall, Marissa, Bianca are already recasts.

On his twitter the Jamey said that the moldavian massacre-like cliffhanger that he heard about a while back would have a "popular character" do something super evil or something. Whatever that would mean.

Why does it need to be explained or why would it be a big problem if cast members/characters aren't on the online version? If they aren't, they just aren't. Don't refer to them or recast if you really need the character. It's not like it's really going to kill continuity, as the online version isn't likely going to pick up from the same scene that the ABC version ended with. I don't get the angst with this.

^You do have a point that they could recast, and I don't think that's off the table. But isn't that risky? I guess we have to ask ourselves what's more risky. Do you recast the 7 or more people you're going to lose and pretend like nothing happened? Or do you kill them/make them be missing and drag it out for awhile with some? What's the better business bet? Hmmm.
