Didn't Kendall basically have the same fantasy when she was planning her revenge against her for kidnapping Spike? This should tell Greenlee something. Every woman she scorns wants to kill her :lol:

Annie came the closest though and if her baby hadn't have miscarried, maybe Greenlee wouldn't be here today. Damn.

I had literally just sat down and turned on the television which was already on ABC... and there she was "singing." I was just like :blink: ... if this isn't the most random sht ever! The herky jerky camera moves trying to make it young and fresh (I only saw that one scene, but would I be wrong to assume it was Mr. Swoosh himself directing?), Aunt Colby gyrating and growling, Asher's dumb face beaming... I turned it off.

The last time Colby sang on the show it sounded just fine. Today was.. not. I would have preferred to get more Maya back story than the Colby/Asher stuff. I wonder who is beating Maya-the aunt or the baby daddy??

There's nothing I hate more than Ryan in investigation mode. And combined with Jessie? Ugh just terrible...

When Colby last sang on the show I remember thinking she sounded really good! But today... WTH was that? It was seriously bad and so beyond random! The stupid looks on Asher's face that the show kept cutting to made it even worse. Asher lied when he told Colby she sounded good and should be a rockstar...

You'd think it was Casey Childs work but surprisingly it wasn't him. This was Pomarico according the credits. This has to go down as one of his worst! I usually like the way he directs AMC.

F--k you Madison! OMG, she ruined what would have been the kiss between Griff and Kendall. What a buzzkill this c-ckblock was

OMG! For real! That whole set up was perfect for Kendall & Griff to kiss!! I was livid when Kendall spotted Madison I did like the scenes that followed, though...Kendall/Griff/Madison scenes were REALLY nice. Madison's dream made me LMAO!!

Also LOL @ all the digs by David at Angie being blind ("I take it you've decided to stay in the dark?") . There were like at least 3 today.

David: "Then I guess your just gonna have to take that leap of faith"

Angie: "And what if that leap leads to a fall?"

David: "Then consider youself lucky. At least you won't see the ground coming when it hits you." LOL

You'd think it was Casey Childs work but surprisingly it wasn't him. This was Pomarico according the credits. This has to go down as one of his worst! I usually like the way he directs AMC.

That scene did look like Casey Childs directed it. It may be him. Since All My Children tapes out of order, they usually give episode credit to the director with the majority of the scenes in that episode. Or Childs might be rubbing off on Pomarico.

Oh, how I wish we'd gotten to see Ross deal with his teenage sons. I loved his relationships with Phillip and Sam, but he really deserved to be seen with his own kids (other than the horror that became Dinah). The boys simply disappeared off canvas after either the Nursery Stalker or the affair with Tori.

What I liked about Bloss is that I liked how they grew to be the stable couple- the closest to an Ed and Mo in their prime. Especially after the Tori story when their extra-marital exploits were in the past. I wanted them to SORAS the three kids, along with Dinah and with Phillip's family as Ross's extended family would really be solid core family material.
With that said, I was rooting against Bloss in 1999 as I really liked the Ross/India pairing-- but that just turned out to be a waste of MKA.

They did actually resolve who shot Austin over a year later (it was Cyrus, as part of his hasty exit story). That was a last minute save though clearly when they forgot lol.

Here is the 70's ABC opening. The theme music "Nikki" was composed by Burt Bacharach and named for his daughter with Angie Dickinson.

Looking back...Primetime Ratings from the 80's

The return of sitcoms' popularity in the mid-'80s was a real thing, but the crash of the wealth-based nighttime soap genre was resonate and self-induced.

There was an effectively grim finality to the mood of the cliffhangers in the Spring of 1985: Bobby's death, the Moldavian massacre, the return of Val's babies... and they felt as if they could have ended right there (and perhaps they should have, although I would have sorely missed S10 of Dallas, S6 of FC, and Season 9 of Dynasty , and the next five years of KNOTS as they singularly maintained quality).

But, wow, these shows just fell apart post-Spring 1985. They stopped being character dramas after a while, and just started trying to "impress" viewers in some superficial way and to "fake it" somehow.

What a painful, unnecessary slide it was. But once these shows seemed to lose their identities, their sense of self, their momentum into the dung heap couldn't be slowed.

It is very strange. They have insisted on having 30+ contract players for years now. If they had less cast, they could up everyone's episode guarantees, balance the cast out more. Like 20-25 would be perfect. Have everyone else recur.
If you look back at the history of the show, especially in the 1970s and in the 2010s, whenever the show was at it's most successful, it had smaller casts. Audience relate to the characters more, because they see more of them. In 2009 and 2013, the show had arguable it's most successful periods since the early 2000s (ratings wise that is). They had smaller casts and focused on 3 or 4 stories the whole year. That's what they should be doing at this point. Have a few umbrella stories, that last the whole year, and involve the whole cast. But again, before that, fix who we see on screen cause.....😬
