I just don't give a damn about anything going on with Rafe! Omfg will this story ever end? It was picking up speed last week but now ...?? Boring! And I continue to wonder why the fact that there's two Rafe's still has to be kept hidden. END THIS NEVERENDING MESS! UGH!

I didn't see Sonny's appearance on todays show as "blink and you missed it". He was on during several segments on the show, I think it was just that compared to Taylor/EJ & Rafe/Sami especially, Sonny and his family were given little scraps at Chez Rouge...I enjoyed the scraps though. Anyone else chuckle when he was talking about how beautiful Chloe was? I didn't sense one bit of flirt in his voice/facial expressions when he was saying that to her face. LOL. ;-) Just sincere respect & grace.

Omg he annoyed the hell out of me today with his ungratefulness. He got mad because Mel & Dario told the police & Adrienne that they were spending the night together. "That story" hasn't even begun yet. The two characters are in their separate orbits, doing their own thing. Sonny has been on twice in the span of four episodes.

I think the Sonny addition has added some talk to this thread. I sure wouldnt be posting or watching days if it wasnt for Sonny and Co.

I cant recall how many times Shawn Christian awful character has been on. And he was a newbie too ...I like SC but hate him on Days....lol

If the spoilers for the July 4th episode are correct, Melanie, Will, Gabi, Chad, Abby, and Kinsey will all be hanging out together. Sonny is not listed as one of the group for that episode. Let me be clear, I'm not already expecting Will and Sonny to be sticking their tongues down each other's throats and I certainly don't expect them to fall into bed for a torrid f*ck fest. But it's the little things such as this that kinda doesn't make sense for Sonny, especially if the idea is for him to mingle with others first, before his presumed romance with Will. Let Sonny be part of the crowd so that WE, the audience, can see him interact with his peers and get to know him better. Surely he can do that and still bond with his parents at the same time.

I agree but I still would like to see more family scenes.

I'm afraid slow for writers means not showing them at all and then poof putting them together a la Nuke.

Speaking of family, for some reason I always thought that ALL of Sonny's family knew that he was gay, I don't know why I thought that. It's interesting that only his parents know. So Sonny is both out and still closeted at the same time.

Toups, we never agree.. but complete and utter word to this. I could not agree more.

I'm looking forward to the writers trying something new, and I think everyone is, so I think the argument that bad writers like Higley did shove new characters down our throats shouldn't be a free pass for the new ones to do the same with Sonny. "It happened with Rafe and Daniel!" Okay? Well, can we not repeat that mess and have Sonny be just as irritating? I am willing to wait and see what happens when his story starts before I pass any judgment. Because the new writers' stories don't even start until September! So I'm just expecting to get to know him right now.

And like was said, the other kids his age are barely on and Justin/Adrienne don't have huge story yet, it'd be weird if it all of a sudden became the Sonny show and it would turn the viewers who do watch the show for reasons other than Sonny before they can even get a chance to like him.

I will say that Sonny is one of the more appealing new characters in a while. Freddie Smith seems very at-ease onscreen, and it's fun seeing Justin and Adrienne in this new context.

Also, this show is completely demented. The social worker just traipsed to the damn bar at Chez Rouge with an infant, in case Chloe was able to make it at a moment's notice?! Oooookay.

I also love how Quinn's damn office seems to be the Sapphire Club. How is he hiding his business from anyone when all he does is stay there? And meet johns there?! And where are his other employees? I love how Viv was like, let's leave this trashy place and meet at Chez Rouge. But now I wonder, do they even serve food at the Sapphire Club? What IS it?

Also, EJ is an utter idiot now. Everyone is treating him and Taylor like they're autistic Theo. "Taylor will forgive me! You don't know how miraculous our love is!" Oooookay.

Sonny is a newbie in the younger set. The younger set is on 1-2 days a week usually. They are not in A or B stories and this entire set of younger characters never has been. They brought him in well, in scenes with family, and are going slowly from there like they also did when bringing abby and gabi on, also in his age range. He is not a main character and not in an A storyline, and not to mention all the rewrites and behind the scenes changes that have gone on not just with the show but this specific story, so this expectation/want for him to be front and center, on daily, and in the leading storyline is unrealistic.

Dont get me wrong, bringing him on, ending on that scene, and not following it up in the next episode or ep after was stupid. Im not saying it wasnt. And i definatly have concerns over it going to slow or going slow then BOOM the story takes over. The show is a hot mess and its plotting and pacing ios shotty at best. However, that is why im ok with this storyline taking some time, until the new writers have more control, to get going. And as i said, id much prefer a dozen more sonny scenes with justin, adrianne, abby, and the rest of his family before any with will, gabi, or the other teens (who are not abby).
