She's White so it's ok.

Why must everything be so "black" and "white"?

I respect your opinion, but I've seen a lot of AMC and OLTL actors take positive approaches and they didn't sound like that. It comes across to me as a combination of a kiss-up and a who cares.

You said that he assumes that he can get any job after being promoted at OLTL. I don't agree with that. He is just trying to be positive about the future and not burn bridgets. I highly doubt that he really thinks that it will be easily to get work, but he isn't going to wail over it publicly.

Except it wasn't ok for IK nor CH for taking on Frons as they got pushed out.

OK, I reread it, and I guess the praising Frons stuff is a bit over the top, but you know something...if I were a capable actor but with a limited range whose major asset were my six-pick and who knew that my only hope for work would be on another network show, either daytime or primetime, I'd probably kiss the asses of every decision maker at ABC.

Did you read JPL's statement? I can understand why Robin went off...

http://www.soapoperadigest.com/content/john-paul-lavoisier-weighs-oltl-cancelation

OLTL's John-Paul Lavoisier weighs in on his soap's cancelation: "Yeah, you know. All good things must come to an end sometimes. Farah [Fath] and I have plans to head out to L.A. as soon as the show wraps. Time for me to pound the pavement in another town I suppose. We are actually very anxious and excited for all the new jobs ahead. I wish everyone at AMC and OLTL the very best of luck in their careers and personal lives that are to come after November of 2011. I will forever feel extremely blessed to have worked on the final nine and a half years of one of the longest running television shows in the world's history. Thank you, Brain Frons for letting us all work under your amazing talent and decision making for all this time. Thank you."

How nauseating. At least pick someone more attractive to perform oral on, JPL!

I guess it's the way the wording comes across to me. Yeah, you know, I'm going to LA and can't wait for new jobs. I appreciate that he's not throwing a tantrum like some actors do but it comes across very flippantly to me.

Yet NOBODY (besides myself & Vee) labels either of them (or Strasser, Walker, etc) "crazy" or says they'll never work in Hollywood again when they "speak out".

They're constantly applauded & encouraged for it.

I'm surprised he didn't mention Anne Sweeney. She would be the one more likely to have an impact.

GH is in L.A., I think JPL wants to keep on Frons' good side so he can land there and he may not even land there. JPL won't go much farther than most of the rest of the actors, so it doesn't really matter what he said, he's finished regardless. I don't have a problem with Strasser's comments, honesty is the best policy.

I really don't understand what else is expected from these actors. Yes, it is hard losing a job, but it isn't the end of the world. They know that they are lucky that they have gotten to work steadily for such a long time, but their lives go on. They have to be positive and look forward to the future.

Uh, I called Tonja Walker crazy.

Robin Strasser is not doing herself any PR favors but AFAIC she can say whatever she wants at this point (and yes, I'd say the same thing for Victoria Rowell, though I think Rowell's younger and thus in a much more vulnerable position). I just hope she's able to work again.

There's a difference between not burning bridges and being a servile, fawning suckup completely devoid of integrity.

JMHO.

And mine.

Other than the  from assuming that jobs in L.A. are just sitting and waiting for him and his gf to come claim them, I can chalk his statement up to an optimistic outlook on the future. But that last line was both a slap in the face and a suck of the dick.

The optimism is the part I can understand. You can be a glass half full or half empty kind of person, and it is always better to look on the bright side and see everything as an opportunity, especially when you are relatively young. As actors, they all probably should have left OLTL a while back to hit the pavement and do auditions. Not that I would ever accuse him of being a great actor, but good for Justin Bruening leaving AMC at the right time, and now he is starting what will hopefully for him be a long running primetime show. I feel bad for people like Robert S Woods and Erika Slezak because they are not young and not really old enough to retire, so basically they are done whether they like it or not.
