Partially. But I didn't care for her acting either. She was good in the role, but she seemed too calculated in her acting. I'm not sure if that makes sense; it's hard to describe. I think that's why I enjoyed Alicia when she first came on as Kendall. But then I got sick of her because she was on every day. And that's not an exaggeration. She was forced down my throat and to top it off, her character became so whiny. It was a bad combo.

I always thought they took away what made Kendall a good character when they made her and Erika close.

I always wished that animosity between them could have lasted forever. Even if things softened between them over the years, some of that deep rooted hatred would still be there. Watching now, you'd never know their history or how much they didn't like each other at one point.

SMG was awesome as Kendall, and she certainly had a healthy dose of precocious New York child actor in her which made the character endearingly annoying. Whenever a scheme blew up in her face you'd get a hearty laugh out of it.

I've never been a huge Alicia Minshew fan. I suppose she's competent most of the time, but in scenes that call for some depth, she usually falls short. Also, I like actresses who are interesting to look at, who look like they have some intelligence and some fire & passion, and maybe this sounds harsh, but I've never gotten any of that from Alicia. It doesn't help that the writing usually let her down. I mean, who is Kendall and what does she want? What's her motivation? What's her journey? Why was she with Zack? None of that was ever clearly defined. Once they got past the bumpiness of the Erica-Kendall relationship, Kendall just seemed to exist without any real purpose. They should've played into her insecurity and neediness, but that seemed all but forgotten, Sorry, this is the writer in me coming out. "Kendall" for me has pretty much been a combination of shallow acting and poor writing.
