A- .GIF use, it would have been an A+ but Sammi is in it, tho she would be an upgrade as Kendull.

Are you stuck in 1994? Thats the only way you could even try to argue that we have an amazing, beautiful, flawless Actress in the role of Kendull. B)

That's great to hear Susan say that about Agnes, but I don't think Agnes was ever really pushed aside. Even under Frons (not that she would want to work under him) I'm sure if Agnes had asked to return as HW, she would have been allowed to. That said, I wouldn't be shocked if she was against some decisions (the way even sweet Aggie goes on about Pratt being just the wrong style for AMC speaks volumes) and her "consultations" were ignored.

The thing on The View that really drove me crazy was Babwa. When did she become such a [!@#$%^&*]? Last year she was condescending as Hell to Agnes Nixon, treating her as some archaic old frail relic, and now she seemed to be working hard not to all out gloat that The View was still on and AMC was dead.

Is the Joy interview online anywhere?

Yeah Agnes has always had SOME level of participation... How much they listen to her is another thing--or how much she even consults. But it's not like some soap blogs have implied that her returning in a more active role for the final months will leave her with all these characters and stories she has no idea about--

Baba has always been somewhat unpleasant to watch - I guess now she has just dropped the fakery. I guess it's not a big surprise if she's bitter, considering her entire career has been about negative views of women, from her tea-pouring Today Show start, to her representing the paranoia and fears of male anchors in the 70's, to her representing the parody of vapid "celebrity" interviewers, to her baby being popular mostly because it is a comfort to those who want to see women as ill-informed, petty, and shallow, a show where pseudo-intellectual morons rattle off incorrect and dangerous information in-between their butt-kissing and claw-sharpening. Agnes Nixon and Susan Lucci aren't perfect but can at least be content with their lives and careers. Baba will be remembered for asking people what kind of tree they are or for having a feud with Star Jones.

I don't know if I'm the only one who didn't know you could scroll pages with the arrows on the site. SMG also talked about coming back to AMC and her favorite memories...

On her favorite memories from working on "All My Children":

"My friends that I made: Kelly Ripa, Eva La Rue, Sidney Penny. I still speak to these women all the time. I made amazing friends, and it was one of the greatest training grounds I ever could have asked for."

On coming back for the finale:

"I'm waiting for the call. I would. I absolutely would. My phone is not ringing. I think it has to be more like a bartender or something because there is someone that plays my character now. She does an amazing job with it, and it is her character now, so I'd have to play someone else. I could be the UPS man!"

If somebody doesn't beat me to it I'm going to make an attempt to do this at some point this weekend. I have a DVD of it and a new computer, maybe that's all it takes!

    • I think the arrival of the Spauldings (Alan/Elizabeth/Phillip) caused the erosion of Sara's character on the show since Elizabeth took over Sara's place in the whole Justin/Jackie story.  Sara's brief marriage to another deceptive man sounded like it paled in comparison to the previous deceptive man story that she had played the decade beforehand.. and it was probably done because of the whole Alan/Jackie/Mike/Elizabeth cluster that took off story wise.   I know the show had introduced Brandy, the woman Justin cheated on Jackie with... but I don't believe she lasted more than a year.. and didn't make much of an impression. While the Dobson's were good at writing/juggling multiple characters/stories.. they weren't perfect though they did manage to make use of characters not in the front burner like Sara, Ann, etc. I do know that Sara/Adam looked to be starting up at the end of the Dobson era with a jealous/regretful Barbara looking on.. which played out during the Roger/Holly rape story and Hollys prison story.   I don't know if Marland was as inspired by that story when he took over
    • If you ever make it to the Paley Center in NYC (fka Museum of TV and Radio), in their viewing room, you can watch Days 1/1/73 featuring Denise Alexander as Susan. It’s her last month on the show before switching to GH.
    • Overall I was impressed with this week and fall out from the revealation.  I am looking forward to seeing the Nicole/Dana showdown next week.  I do wonder if June is going to be tied to Hayley.
    • I thought Adam and Sara got married? Although I do not remember any mention of her when Adam returned for Blake's weddings. But MA certainly got the short end of the stick storywise, as Marland's obsession with therapy reared it's head.
    • Didn’t Meg Bennett return to SFT as a writer in the last few years. I always wondered if they tried to get her back as Liza.
    • Millette Alexander got the short end of the stick once they killed off Joe. The Justin thing was a non-starter. Then she was briefly married to Alan's corrupt lawyer and HE was killed off. She was paired briefly with Adam and that ended because she believed Holly over Roger about the rape. Definitely, Marland had zero interest in her except as the therapist for the many, many of his female characters who needed therapy. It's not odd she left the show. One of the rare 1978 episodes on YT shows Alan going to Cedars for a physical check-up. He ends up with Sarah as his doctor. In between making mysoginistic comments about women doctors, he also openly flirts with her. It's very obvious they were chem testing Sarah and Alan. It's a really good scene. Bernau is both obnoxious and charming and Millette is amazing, trying to be pleasant and profesional without rolling her eyes at him, but at the same time maybe a LITTLE bit attracted to him. An interesting what-might-have-been. So it appears the Dobsons were actively looking for someone to pair her with, they just never found the right one for a long-term story.
    • I'm happy to read whatever you provide, @Paul Raven.
