I wasn't going to post on this thread, but I needed to correct a little bit of revisionist history. Thorne No. 1 (Clayton Norcross) was horrible in the role. Outside of Charity Rahmer (Belle, DAYS) and John Howard (Paul Ryan 1996 version, ATWT), I've never seen a weaker performer. Jeff Trachta was talented (fans picketed when he was let go), but he did have a lack of chemistry with Macy. If I' m not mistakaen, Norcross was the first "regular" to be let go from B&B.

Dave Reed was gone before Thorne #1.

Marla Adams was too glamourous for Beth, but I didn't care. I just loved watching her :)

As for Thorne being gay, I was 11 years old when B&B started airing here in Greece and all kids said that Thorne must secretly be gay lol

Too bad that I still haven't gotten used to the horrible names Stephanie picked up for her boys.

Phil MacGregor went on to Loving. He originated the role of Linc Beecham but was replaced by Brian Robert Taylor who had been the first Tyler on Capitol before being replaced by Dane Witherspoon who had been the first Joe on Santa Barbara before being replaced by Mark Arnold who had replaced Joey Alan Phipps as Kelly on Edge of Night!!

Who is this woman playing Quint's amorous student? She reminds me of Susan Walters. She's a bad actress though...

This is the first version of the character, played by Fiona Hutchinson.

    • I assume in name only?  One Stormy Night wasn't exactly steamy.  If it's a literal throwback then Stephanie's writing about sexy times her own Uncle was having lol. Since I am going to surmise it's just a throwback to the name, Night Sins and Winter Heat both sound sexier.  Just saying.  I swear Jamey (and Ron) just google things and land on the first thing they like and decide it's a good throwback to history without watching it.
    • I usually don't want Tide placement in the middle of an intense sad scene, but this is an interesting point

    • BTG joke immediately followed by an AMC joke (same context)
    • Thanks!   Was anyone watching during this time? Wondering how Peggy’s rape played out onscreen. It just seems cruel to subject the Brooks family to this trauma a 2nd time.   Feels like the writers have already given up on the character of Jennifer, even though she sticks around another year-plus. She should be a passionate and fierce protective mother, but instead she seems just reactionary (and not even mentioned in this recap) This was also the case in ‘73 when Chris was raped. The writers are definitely more invested Stuart as the Brooks parent.
    • BTG got another SNL reference at 00:50  CONTEXT (so it isn't misconstrued) in this joke swap segment, Michael Che frequently makes his white cohost Colin Jost read racist jokes written by Che.

    • It's obvious that Israel's presence is a major divisive issue, and this is something that the EBU needs to deal with. According to the now published results Israel got 13 out of a possible 19 max points in the semi-final, and while their song isn't bad there's no way they would get those numbers without some kind of manipulation/political voting. They are clearly using this contest as a way of improving their somewhat tarnished reputation. I know that some people are comparing this to the massive sympathy votes that Ukraine gets and which propelled them to victory in 2022, but I feel that that was a more genuine show of support than this concerted effort from Israel to influence the televoting. I even had an ad on Youtube from Israel in Swedish(!) asking for votes! It might not be against any rules, but it feels a bit icky nonetheless.
    • Yeah, as you wrote, an Israeli win would have been a political disaster. Congratulations to Austria. 0 points from the televoting to Switzerland was a disgrace. Other than that, I really enjoyed the show ... but I'm also glad that Eurovision season is over

    • Hahaha Sorry if I was too negative, I just started typing and typing once I got going hahaha
    • @dc11786 Thanks for taking time to answer my various questions, along with giving your thoughts on the different writing teams. I wonder why they didn't just have Ryder and TR leave together if Jane was going anyway. The discussions over the last few pages have made me more interested in watching these episodes than I have been over the years - without the extra details and analyses provided, these years can be difficult to decipher (not helped by how often Jo seems like a side character).
