They had different ideas about running Y&R.

Kay wanted a Victor Y&R while Ed wanted a Nikki Y&R.

I'm surprised he wasn't worried about accusations of favoritism.

I would rather see a Nikki Y&R.

They were used to it since it wasn't the first time they were accused of favoritism.

I only remember a little of Chris Douglas but I thought he was OK. The role didn't exactly require Olivier. I never understood the fast recast. Only once I went on here did I start to realize about that feud.

Did anyone backstage get along on Y&R at this point?

Some did but most kept to themselves (except to campaign for Emmys).

Jeff Martin? Don't you mean Phil Brent?

That's the one! LOL I wasn't alive and for some reason, I only think Erica/Jeff Martin when I think AMC in the 70s.

Did Kay want a Victor Y&R in the sense of Victor destroying everyone and treating people horribly only to still be written as a hero?

She saw Grambo as a romantic hero who usually won (unlike Maria/Hogan's Victor who is a megalomaniacal psycho).

Despite ridiculously pairing him with increasingly younger actresses her Victor was pretty balanced.

In a March 1993 SOD, Matt Borleghni said he was happy he spent the end of his time on AMC working with Cady McClain, because he and Kelly Ripa did not get along. He said at one point they were screaming at each other and people thought they were rehearsing a scene. He ended the comments with the usual wish-her-well-she's-doing-great-now.

I don't really watch AMC, but that's shocking. I always assume that the younger actors are most close knit, but guess not.

It's probably a long list but i would love to read who got along or who didn't get along with everyone who ever worked on Y&R, LOL. Even if those individuals get along or are cordial now.

Matt seems a little prickly (last year he was upset about not being asked to AMC's finale party), although I don't know what Kelly is like so who knows.

Ah, times change. While I don't disbelieve what Borleighni said, he has been in the audience of Live With Kelly (back when Regis was still on) and she pointed Matt out as her good friend.

Perhaps they made up over time LOL.

I don't know was the AMC set, drama free for the most part? I doubt it with Lucci and stuff.
