"Erica" SHOULD have been retired and every time I heard a commercial for SN's "Being Erica" my brain backfired.

BIG FAIL on SN's part for creating a series with that as a name. Its always bothered me as well. I tend to think of an AMC marathon or event and its that stupid show

Days is possibly John: Johnny the kid Marlena fostered, John Black, Johnny Corelli, John Thomas (J.T.) Brady, Johnny DiMera, and Kristen insisted that the unborn child she claimed she was having was going to be John Black Jr.

One of the things about Days that aggravates me is that you can usually tell what the baby naming trends are with the introduction of new characters.

Victor Lord

Victoria Lord (Viki)

Victor Newman

Victoria Newman

Victor Newman, Jr. (Adam)

Victor Kiriakis

Vic(k?)tor Cassadine

Victoria Hudson (Vicky)

Victoria Spaulding

Victoria Spaulding, II (Vicky)

I'm sure I'm missing a couple more...

What I always find interesting is that around the time Y&R was introducing John, Jack, and Ashley Abbott, THE DOCTORS had a triangle that involved John, his wife Ashley, and a intern named Jack.

TD's Ashley happened to be mentally unstable as well.

Least used soap name. Henry. I can only think of one. Henry Coleman. Also, there's only one Thaddeus. Seriously. Even though they call him 'Tad' It's Thaddeus. Bitches!:lol:

The most common I can think of. Viki/Victoria/Victor. Like someone else mentioned. It's such an overdone name.

OLTL had Henry "Hank" Gannon

What about Maria? Thats like the defualt name for latinas on soaps and definetly the most common for them. AMC, GH (had 2), OLTL, SuBe, Passions

GL had two Henry's to my knowledge, Henry Chamberlain and Henry Cooper "Coop" Bradshaw.

Maria is such a tired name for soaps. There's been so many.

On AMC, let's not forget Henry Chin, Maggie's bf under Rayfield&Cascio. Also, Joe & Paul Martin's father was named Henry, though he died before the show began. Besides Hank Gannon there was Hank Ferguson on AMC and Hank Elliot on ATWT.

Similarly, when NLG joined GH, I couldn't shake the image of Joan Collins whenever Alexis' name was mentioned.

Have there been any other Alexises in daytime?

Only one (I think?):

Dimitri

Palmer

Dorian (a popular name for black males in primetime... oh wait, there was a black male Dorian on OLTL)

Calliope

Asa

Clint

Lucinda

Althea

Clarissa

Cass

Cabot

Clay

There was Clint Radisson on Y&R and a guy named Clint Atkinson on AMC (short term character circa 1986 who shot Palmer, leading to Natalie becoming his private nurse). There was Clarissa Marler on GL and Lucinda Shenk on OLTL. There was a Dimitri Carlisle on the MTV soap Spider Games.

I've actually thought about this before when it comes to me and my siblings' names.

My name, Addie, has been used on both DAYS and OLTL (both me and Addie Horton's name is short for Adelaide, while Addie on OLTL is short for Agatha).

Two of sisters' names, Lucy and Olivia, have been used any of number times on several shows (Lucy on GH, GL, and ATWT and Olivia on Y&R, GL, GH, and PC), while my two other sisters, Pippa (short for Philippa) and (until Y&R) Matilda, had never been used on an American soap opera I don't think. Both however are extremely common and often used names in Australia (where were from), so there are been characters on Australian soaps with those names. My brother's name, Zeke, has only been used on an American soap I don't think (there is one on Neighbours though).

Both of my stepsisters' names, Maggie and Emma, have used; Maggie on DAYS and OLTL and almost every show seems to have an Emma. My other stepsiblings, Stella and Arthur, I don't think have ever had their names be used.

Ruby, Shelley, Liam, Serena, Ellie, Daphne, Oliver, Carrie, Fiona, Seth, Heath, and Harry are all fairly common names that I can think of only being used once or not at all on soaps
