Administrator Toups Posted June 20, 2011 Author Administrator Share Posted June 20, 2011 Inside The Writers Room: June Edition Connections still play a big part. The exodus of FOG's begin!
Members R Sinclair
Okay then. We'll see how well Elizabeth "I Need My $200 Haircuts" Page's connections are versus a cheaper writer.
Administrator Toups Posted June 20, 2011 Author Administrator Share Posted June 20, 2011 Poor Elizabeth Page, that's all she's going to be known for. LOL When DAYS had its budget slashed in 2008, that didn't stop Tomlin from hiring friends who are veteran writers and I bet they didn't come cheap. On a writing staff, I think it's more about connections than costs (sure sometimes costs come into play) - maybe 75/25....definitely more than 50/50 though. Members Soapsuds
David A. Levinson is a good SW. I liked his scripts on ATWT. He looks very young too.
Administrator Toups Posted June 20, 2011 Author Administrator Share Posted June 20, 2011 Just added an AMC tidbit: http://www.soapoperanetwork.com/news/item/4895-inside-the-writers-room-june-edition
Members RavenWhitney
So is John Newman going too? I still think Jodie Scholz will return to DOOL as scriptwriter. This seems like a complete writer makeover. With AMC finishing in mid-July...which of those writers will go to Dool or Y&R? any?
Members Khan
And deservedly so, I would add. You can't bitch about not being able to afford $200 haircuts, not even ironically, when most people in this country are lucky to be able to afford Supercuts. Also...? I've seen homegirl's picture. Whoever she's paying all that cash to for hair maintenance is gouging the crap out of her.
Members Mr. Vixen
So will Guza last be credited on July 22nd, if GW's material takes over on the 15th? Or will there be some overlap. (Sorry if this has been covered. I got behind on reading this thread)
Members DRW50
When was the Page comment from?
Members R Sinclair
The 2007-2008 strike. The other infamous one during that era was Marina Alburger's "Nordstrom's" comment.
Members sheilaforever
Toups, will you do the usual post-Emmy backstage staffers (writers/directors) picture tagging again?
Administrator Toups Posted June 22, 2011 Author Administrator Share Posted June 22, 2011 Given those dates, I assume there will be an overlap. Garin probably re-wrote Guza's last week. I guess I could do that. I think I forgot to do it last year. LOL

Members Mr. Vixen
I'm sorry Toups, I meant the 25th. GW's first day is the 25th not the 15th.
