Members Y&RWorldTurner
I'm sorry, people don't understand why Casiello is reviled by many when he Tweets crap like this on his Twitter? I know Toups is loyal to him and he singled Toups out, but why does he continue feeding into this? He's basically calling discussion at SON a wasteland. So what the f.uck are we actually doing on this board? The soaps forum is active, the primetime forum has great discussions, the canceled soaps forum is active, the foreign soaps is filled with discussion about the UK soaps. I don't take it lightly when me and most of the posters at SON are being disrespected and disregarded like this. We all may not get along here, and there might be one or two trolls every now and then, but how dare anyone ever take for granted the passion most of us on here have for the soaps on this board? He has the right to Tweet what he wants, but we also have the right to respond to such nonsense. He is technically still a part of the soap industry, thus further feeding into the idea of what contempt he and most of his colleagues really have for soap fans, especially this board, as he's discussing us. Members Khan
Lord knows I have my "enemies" on this board, but even I believe it's unwise to dismiss the many over the inane actions of a few. SON is a lively board filled with lively people who know their [!@#$%^&*], soap-wise. As always, though, there are a few proverbial "bad apples" who get under others' skins. Members Soapsuds
So what the [!@#$%^&*] is WWE?? I guess we hurt Hackello's feeling by our posts. I wonder if he went crying to mommy??
Members GladGirl
Really? From his description of "kicking it up twenty notches", I was thinking something more....heck, I'll say it, lofty. Like artistic director at the Old Globe! Or Vice President of Public Relations for Goldman Sachs! I'll give him credit. He has a serious pair of stones to take a job like that. When he said travel, he ain't kidding. And dealing with McMahons -- oh boy! (And it's not the kind of money you make in daytime, but I guess that train has left the station.) I do wish him luck. He's gonna need it!
Members Soapsuds
Again I say...WTF is WWE??
Members GladGirl
World Wrestling Entertainment. He's not the first soap writer to do this. WWE frequently has ads up for Writers/Producers and they specifically say they are looking for writers with soap experience.

Members Khan
Hey, don't knock the WWE. I'm sure it's a lucrative new enterprise for Tom (although, I, myself, would have tried for Marvel Comics or DC first).
Members Y&RWorldTurner
As much as I hate prolonging the discussion about a man who has publicly dissed this message board and its posters on his Twitter... Lucrative in what sense, Khan? I believe GladGirl said the money isn't as much as soaps. Do you mean stability? I've never paid any attention to the WWF/WWE. Do writers tend to last long there? Members Bright Eyes
All I know is, Michael Fairman, worked there as writer during the company's highest rated period.
Members R Sinclair
That's where my dislike on a personal level comes in. Whatever I think of his "writing" aside, I dislike the notion that he feels he's doing soap fans a favor by blessing them with his tweets and blogs. As if he's doing something noble by daring to communicate with the dregs of television entertainment. While I understand the frustration of dealing with particular fans on message boards (God knows I do), the majority of soap fans are just as sane, knowledgeable and intelligent as he and his colleagues. I dislike the tone of constantly reminding soap fans that "you know... I'm really doing something frowned upon by talking with you guys! If I were anyone else, this wouldn't be happening. Just sayin'!" It reminds me of one (of many) of my favorite lines from the movie Boy Culture: "You know what line pisses me off? 'I'm not normally into black guys but...' They need to be shot! It's like, 'Oh, this must be my lucky night! You're feeling abnormal, and I'm black!'"
Members R Sinclair
I wonder if he'll be chastising WWE fans on twitter for their inability to tell fantasy from reality.
Members Soapsuds
Maybe he'll use Black Rabbit and Jack Abbot again and cut the crap!!
Members Khan
Oh, boy, are you not kidding! If you think soap fans are extreme...! LOL! I, for one, would welcome an opportunity to work for the WWE. One, I grew up watching that stuff with my older brother, who remains a fan to this day. And two, it'd allow me to indulge a bit in the side of my personality that's, well, gay. (Sorry, WWE (and fans), but it's true: your [!@#$%^&*] is gay. And I'm not talking "gay," as in "homosexual," because that would be an insult to my comrades in the LGBTQ community. I mean the other kind of gay even we use to describe something that's OTT and campy as hell. In fact, the WWE, IMO, is gayer than Broadway musicals and Cher fan conventions combined...and I love that!...but I digress.) At best, though, the WWE is like Hostess Twinkies for the mind and eyes. The storylines, such as they are, are little more than filler between matches, featuring horrendous "actors" and simplistic stock characters that would put even PASSIONS to shame. If they become more about that than actual rasslin' under their ridiculous new "Action Soap Opera" banner, fans are gonna revolt. Bank on it. OTOH, I always said Vince McMahon would've cleaned up as a villain on DAYS. :-D
Members Y&RWorldTurner
I mean, at least set your Twitter to private if you want to talk sh!t about soap fans and a specific soap message board... So much for the "I'm just another soap fan" shtick he used for years. I used to be willing to give him the benefit of the doubt until he continually slighted soap fans and message boards on his Twitter. For what? Because they don't enjoy the show you write for or your writing? Did it make him insecure to see people not like his work or the work of the people he worked for? Again, it's his right to Tweet what he wants, but he and his supporters shouldn't be upset when soap fans/message boards take them to task over it. If we're being talked about, such as the Tweet above where he singled out SON and its posters out, then we have every right to respond.
