Lol it actually might be pure coincidence actually. In fact the Crystal Lake reference may be a instant of real life veracity given their is a real Crystal Lake, Illinois just 20 miles south of the real Genoa City, Wisconsin. Given Bell's great familiarity with the area it wouldn't be a surprise he'd actual reference a nearby real resort lake as opposed to a Friday the 13th reference.

haha true....I forget sometimes how Bill Bell liked to reference actual places close to his heart, to add some realism...

with that said, I always thought it was funny how both Peter Barton and Scott Reeves starred in one of the Friday the 13th movies before they came on Y&R....I think you even saw Barton's bare ass in that one....

Lol I remember the Scott Reeves one, it was embarrassingly bad! Like that Nightmare on Elm Street movie that had Roseanne Barr and Tom Arnold playing the neighbors, the movie made it sound like Jason became a Muppet. . It's quite weird how the Friday the 13th movies were usually no name and low budget but a number of starts did get their start their too. The one with Reeves also had Kelly Hu in it in an early role for her! The one with Barton had Corey Feldman playing the kid and Crispin Glover in it too. Lar Park was the no name lead in New Blood and next thing you know she's playing Linda Fairgate on Knots Landing looking her real age.

I'm always checking this page whenever I see new posts just to see if I ever miss any old videos so I don't miss them before it's too late. Nice to see those Dickson clips!

Don't forget Kevin Bacon! LOL

Those movies are so notorious of having actors that just gave up or moved on from their careers, besides the ones we mentioned....(also Renee Jones was in the "Jason Lives" one where we were treated to watching Jason rip her pretty head off...LOL) I still appreciate how back then it seemed like most of the actors who later joined a soap like Barton, Reeves, and Jones didn't see the genre as a "step down"  compared how most young actors today thinks being a part of a popular movie franchise means you always have to get "bigger" and "better" roles in primetime/other movies....never giving soaps a thought or the time of day....

Thanks for the articles....these events always sound like fun, and I loved the picture of Jeanne playing with Kimberlin's baby daughter...

Kind of shocked Braeden was there as It seems like he usually avoids these type of things....

They were going for a John Silva/Lynne romance?....didn't know that....

That woman who plays Ivana looks like Melissa Claire Egan in that photo...

She does. I always enjoyed Ivana. By far the best part of that Jessica/Dylan stuff.

It was a surprise to see just about everyone appear. And definitely a surprise about the John/Lynne thing. I don't remember that. They seemed to drop any story for John or Lynne fairly quickly.

At first I thought the guy who played Norman was the one who played April's abusive husband. Victoria's porn peddler also has that look. I guess Bell stuck to types.

By the time this issue went to press, Heidi Mark had already been replaced by Sharon Case. They said that after the first two firings, Sharon would now be on recurring.

I wish there was more of that story around....I sometimes forget how limited B&B is of any clips dealing with any of their "secondary" characters from the old days...

I honestly can't tell if the John/Lynne thing was meant to be funny or not....I could see them hooking up though.....maybe a trial hook up did happen onscreen before it was dropped....

Yeah those guys all look alike LOL.....It was nice to read that the dude in Victoria's centerfold story was a big Y&R/Victor fan....

so it was Heidi Mark after Monica Potter..I always get confused on who came first and second before Case....not to mention they also had another Doris and Amy before Karen Hensel and Julianne Morris...............between those 3 and the original Mari Jo before Diana Barton, I wonder why Bell Bell struggled with these casting decisions...

You're welcome! Y&R(along with B&B of course) has been the one soap to actually take advantage of writing in actual nearby locations ie taking to trips to Chicago and Green Bay, Alice and Cassie living in Madison, Christine "dumping" Isabella's body in Lake Michigan etc. Oddly I don't think Milwaukee has ever been mentioned.

    • I pray⏤and I know it's a big prayer⏤that Noel Maxam is somehow able to figure things out budget-wise so we can stop re-dressing existing sets as "new" sets. I know in apartment buildings apartments can generally look the same, but I'm over it on this soap. The last time he was executive producer was in 2011 when the original Horton Town Square was introduced, and we had some other sets get introduced around this time (likely pre-commissioned prior to his election), but I'm trying to have some hope he can pull this off. Let's [finally] see it.
    • Definitely not the best of RC's breakdowns. I don't know what it says that I could pick up his trademarks yesterday 30 minutes in without even knowing that he did one. There was something more...quirky/boardstroked...about Dani. Though I love the Dani/Nicole scenes, she was just a little too hip?...which made me think back to the episode when she broke into Bill/Hayley's house. Then watching the episode later on, I saw Hayley was being used as a punchline to the more interesting and relevant Bill/Ted scenes (see you all were just talking about how you hoped they got scenes...one thing this show is great at...what people want on this board...they already have the foresight for it. The reason I feel the DNA test will get mentioned @Cheap21 in more detail). And then poor Anita reduced for the most part propping up an album.    Needless to say, not my favorite RC episode. And since we are in aftermath week, I just smh. And barely worth a rewatch. BUT...was there good for me?    Yes. Thankfully, we still got good aftermath beats regardless of the breakdown.   Like I said, I really like the Dani/Nicole scenes. But I love their dynamic. And I was looking forward to the shoe being on the other foot once the SilkPress storyline hit climax. Quirks aside, it did not disappoint. Dani came in, and she came in fierce for her sister. I loved her attacking Eva. And then her being surprisingly introspective about Nicole due to her own experience. No wonder Nicole reacted to her being self-aware. So did I.    Meanwhile Bill and Ted finally met up. I'm kinda sad that we did not get that sooner given the scenes that played out sidepiece in the background aside. It might have been interesting to see more of their status as non-Duprees coming into the family explored.    And of course I can't leave without mentioning Eva vs SilkPress Sheila which was the highlight. Both of them were giving. And SilkPress was just so cold with it. I did love that Eva finally stopped letting her gaslight her. Sad to see the duo break up. But I did love that she went to Ted. So...the next turn begins.   And speaking of turns...uh oh at Kat and Tomas. I'm sure he won't be staying away from her. So most definitely, Kat vs Eva ain't over. It will be interesting to see how it goes now that most people know that Kat was right all along.
    • Nah I enjoyed it much more last year because of the Harry plot that ended during that time. Nazar being introduced and them. But this time it is so lame and nothing I like forward to anymore and I’m one of them long time fans. Of course I would be upset if they would cancel it but maybe take a year off or two and return refreshed
    • came across this quote that provides some context: “It’s hard to escape the cultural reach of the Catholic Church when you live in the Western world. It is, for better or worse, one of the load-bearing walls of our civilization. Its influence wafts from the church into the streets of civic life, the courts, the schools, the arts.”
    • Yesterday's show:   Can they give Ambyr Michelle the Emmy for supporting actress already?   Truly enjoyed the episode from Leslie and Eva, Eva and Ted, Nicole and Dani to Anita and Nicole.

    • Yes, I noticed after discovering Chandler was in several episodes. It's a shame it was canceled. I'm glad I was able to watch Chandler's episodes.
    • I'm Catholic, and I care, as do many who aren't Catholic. No need to be so nasty about it.. The whole episode was on Paramount Plus. That is where I watched it..
