I wish I could see the Jill-Derek-Kay and Lorie-Lance-Vanessa-Lorie storylines. 1977 seems to be a good year for the show.

To me the Derek story always seems like pushing too hard to keep Katherine and Jill in the same story, but I'd have to see it to say. The story with the blind guy and Jill, I wish that had run longer.

I thought the introduction of Derek was a smart move to keep the Jill and Kay rivalry going with a fresh twist. Mind you,how anyone could have been interested in Joe LaDue remains a great mystery!

Erica Hope is very Pretty, I love Melody, but i could see her as someone who could have been as successful as she is.

I kind of feel like she looks more like Roberta Leighton too.

And how wonderful to see her pictured with Jeanne.

She looks a little more plain than Melody, but still attractive. She fits the rough background more. She also looks like Bonnie Tyler (the singer).

Who was that Patty Minter character?

Yeah she does look like Bonnie Tyler a little.

I don't know who Patty Minter is but she looks ALOT like Conci Nelson who played Heather in those 1994 episodes.

I never can remember who Adam Scott was either.

I have one or two recaps from 1988 or 1989. When I find them again I'm going to post them.

Patty was Sierra to Nikki's Colleen.

Was Derek Thurston, Katherine's biological son or stepson? I don't even know who he was and I think I would've preferred seeing him than Tucker McCall.

Derek was a "young" (on paper, anyway) man Jill met when she went to work at a beauty salon, or something. Jill fell in love with him. Katherine met him and soon fell in love with him herself, buying him his own salon, and reuniting him with his son. He loved Jill but grew to love Katherine, and of course her money. Jill moved on, while still having feelings for him. Meanwhile, his crazy ex Suzanne came to town and began poisoning Katherine, before having her committed. Katherine was presumed dead in a fire at the institution, and began gaslighting Suzanne, with the help of Liz Foster.

After this Derek left on his own, I'm not sure what his exit was.
