I found John's long funeral to be a little disappointing. In honor of his prowess with the ladies, they should have had a mysterious lady in black. She could have turned out to be Eileen Davidson or Genie Francis. They also should have revealed that John was really Roman, consequences be damned. This is supposed to be drama after all.

Since John is absolutely, positively NOT Roman, that would be not only ridiculous but absurd. John was NEVER Roman. And, with Josh Taylor, Roman isn't even Roman. And, since Wayne died, DAYS is effectively Roman-less & that is a permanent state. I fail to see how any drama  could be wrung out of a new lie. IOW, IMO we should leave Roman the hell alone. I would personally love it if we could honor Wayne but I do not see any way that could happen.

Genie Francis' recollections are hilariously honest and reveal so much about Days through the decades.  Love her and love that she returned home to General Hospital.

In hindsight, this interview is ironically amusing because the interviewer has no rapport with Ms. Francis and seems to have no ability to ask off-script follow-up questions. Including responding to notable revelations. For example, the difference in acting while sober. There are so many gems that Ms. Francis throws out there with no further discussion. Most mysteriously, did she assume she couldn't return to GH at that time, or was she told she couldn't return to the job she preferred?
When Genie Francis says, “I was newly sober,” that’s a profoundly meaningful contextual marker. It potentially reconfigures how she perceived opportunity and risk. But the interviewer doesn’t follow that thread at all. No question about whether she felt safer in daytime post-sobriety, or whether past dynamics at GH felt untenable for reasons other than formal rejection. Instead, the narrative is left suspended in ambiguity: did she try to go back? Was she told no? Or did she foreclose the option herself based on past experiences and unspoken context? And, it does Ms. Francis no favors because it invites a kind of cheap triangulation where fans debate what others must have done to her, rather than what she might have been working through in herself.
What we’re left with is exactly the kind of elliptical record that fuels the most recursive fan myths: “She must have been blacklisted,” or “They never forgave her,” when in fact the text only tells us that she felt stuck—a very different kind of story. One that could’ve been explored with a better interviewer, but wasn’t.

When Susan’s mother was the head writer of Days. Susan had a stunt double, Suzanne did not. Suzanne had one take and 30 seconds to put that fire out or the stunt double was in trouble… Legendary behavior. Both of these ladies ❤️

It is maddening how a fan can performatively mourn the loss of an actor after being responsible for adding to the discomfort the family must have felt in his passing.  It would seem like anyone with common decency would avoid posting about the topic unless they wanted negative attention from their peers.

1994 Daytime Emmys In Memoriam Segment with special feature honoring MacDonald Carey. Drake Hogestyn, Deidre Hall, Frances Reid, John C. Clarke, Melissa Reeves & so many clips you can hardly believe it.

Pure soap royalty, truly.
30 years without Mac, 15 without Frances - and you can feel the absence.
The heart of Days hasn’t quite beat the same since.

Yes, and the clips!!! Using that many in 1994! Thanksgiving Day,...  one of the first shows, he strides confidently across the Horton living room, picks up the phone, "Hello, This is Dr. Tom Horton.," he goes on & what we're hearing is "matinee idol voice" us, DAYS!!! A genuine movie star. Betty Corday was brilliant.

You can tell how pissed she was about the lack of character 'Diana' was, and I, for one, do not blame her. Realistically, she could have been somewhat of a viable one, but it was clear TPTB did not give two-you-know-whats about her.

I love how she made clear that, despite not enjoying her time on Days, she did enjoy working with Drake 😊😊

And she's not exaggerating at all; they never knew what to do with Diana.
