I think Carolyn is right that the war is the best soap out there. That's the true problem; if something remotely interesting was actually happening on screen, we'd be talking about that instead of the his back-stage BS.

I think OLTL is a complete pile of [!@#$%^&*] right now but it's MY pile of [!@#$%^&*]. I've been watching it since 91 and want the best for it, even when it doesn't deserve it. So I'm happy they got a bump in W 18-49, even if its for a week, and hope that all six shows saw an increase.

DOOL is dying. They already started all their big fall stories and it seems not even one caught viewers attention. It´s just more and more people tuning out each week. And with how much they are ahead and how hard is to stear that ship they cannot make any substantial changes atleast till spring, so both sweeps period are already dead for them.

Not good when at March should NBC once again decide the show´s fate. The budget is their saving point, but I´m rather not even trying to imagine what more they could cut. And with these terrible and constant falling numbers I have no doubt NBC will not renew them until some more cost cutting is done.

If not for some of the posters here and elsewhere who watch and comment on OLTL, and the fantastic Youtube channels which have OLTL goodies of the past, I'm not sure how interested I'd be. I love Dorian and admire Erika Slezak and there are some other good moments here and there, but the show is just a mess and has been for a long time.

I know this will seem like a "war" again, and I apologize in advance for that, but I do find it amusing that Kim Zimmer, as polarizing and out of date as she is, and as underpromoted as her return was, might have helped OLTL's ratings more than the endlessly hyped VMG return to GH has helped their ratings.

Poor DAYS.

These ratings aren't promising, but I honestly can't find any difference between this Fall and this past Spring as far as stories go. Its still pretty dull and unimaginative. I'm still kinda hanging on thanks to Soapnet, but nothing is catching my attention enough to tune in daily.

So true.

Sami and EJ have been in the same story for years, it is so sad. They should have had Arianna and EJ get together months ago, when he was representing her for the muggings. But no, they had to force EJami together just to blow it apart 2 months later. They have tried to make it the A-story, but nobody is interested in seeing two guys fight over Sami Brady of all people, she needs a stable relationship with Rafe, new story, and more character interactions.

IMO, the rest of the show is quite good but the pacing for the Chloe saga has been horrible.

All of the Kiriakis drama and Hope's prison drama has been okay, but the show is still choppy and boring.

Kreizman and Swajeski have to be worried. Their contract cycle is coming up in November and show's demos have been horrible for months.

DAYS is just boring. At least with OLTL, it's bad, but there's some action (even though it makes no sense LOL) so it's not totally boring.

    • And here I thought I'd never think about Lauren Tewes again after her brief appearance in Twin Peaks Season 3.
    • I may be the single person who does not mind Transatlantic Campy Pamela. I think it perfectly suits this sort of Absolutely Fabulous-esque supporting character she's playing much more than it did when Cady tried weird and often broad stuff at AMC* or Y&R, or later stints at ATWT. She's not Dixie and she's not trying to be. (* - and I say that as one of the few who was somewhat into Cady trying to make Dixie more cosmopolitan in the Rosanna Cabot mold in mid-2000s AMC, just to liven the character up again)
    • There’s absolutely nothing exciting happening storyline wise but I’m always happy to see the vets on my screen so I’ll take what I can get. It’s also just nice to see them all dressed up in the same room, it always gives classic Y&R vibes. The best part? No Phyllis.

    • Well now we had Ashley's reaction-and weren't we all gasping when she appeared to hate it-but she was just joking!! She loved it. Now we have to see Abby's reaction, and maybe Mamie could come back to say she loves it. How about Jill via Zoom giving her opinion (she'll love it) and bring in a day player to play Mrs Martinez to say she loves it also... I feel bad to keep dumping on this show (not really) but when the choices they make are so inane, it's the only entertainment value the show has. Let's unpack the Nikki birthday story. So Claire wants to throw her Nana a birthday bash as away of endearing Kyle to Victor. Don't quite get the logic there, but OK. She hires a party planner who makes ridiculous suggestions. Slightly annoyed that Y&R are hiring someone for this role for 5 episodes when we never see doctors, co- workers etc. But OK to that to. With all the talk we are expecting something special. What we get is the Jazz Lounge hideously decorated with some ugly tablecloths and a few tacky decorations. They needed a planner for this? Then the guest list consists of family members (no grandchildren)and a few others. Hardly a party. As usual the costuming is pretty awful. A red and black theme ? And our guest of honor is sporting a do that looks like a cross between Cameron Diaz in Something about Mary and Marie from Roxette. They should have had an intimate dinner and ditched all the fanfare. Would have been way more believable.

    • Her accent sounds horrible and doesn't fit in line with the character or the dialogue. I was just messing around on YouTube and perusing early Tad and Dixie videos. Notably, Dixie, a resident of Pigeon Hollow, West Virginia, has no discernible accent. i have no idea why she would add a defunct accent to this character now. I want to do an honest survey here. I watch BTG every day and I love it. It's not perfect, but I find it 99% entertaining. For those that find fault with it - what is actually bothering you? I'm not going to argue at all, or disagree with you. I just want to know what others are seeing that I'm not.
    • It's a choice and today, she made it more British than ever before. It's almost like she's making Pamela act like how she thinks she should be acting.
    • I cannot believe there is a whole storyline about the Abbott house renovation. They really are grasping over at Y&R. I don’t see a big difference in the set. It is refreshed. Why make a storyline out of it?
    • Cady is using what sounds like a transatlantic accent which is so odd these days. Sharon's hostility is entertaining already. That look she gave Anita when she opened the door was pure attitude.
