@All My Shadows Season 6 was Knots Landing best season. The last 10 episodes of Season 6 were to me the peak of Knots Landing.
Season 5 Knots Landing got corporate with Lotus Point, ventured into James Bond/action thriller territory with Wolfbridge, and also got glamorous. IMO going corporate and glamorous was done in response to Dynasty blowing up and becoming a pop culture phenomenon.
Hahaha, that's funny.
Knots Landing isn't the type of soap we'd expect to see a messy wealthy matriarch that tries to control her son's life but Ruth didn't feel out of place at all and I think her story was complete in the episodes that she was in. I loved the scenes where Laura called out Ruth and put her on blast. It's so funny that Ruth preferred villainess Abby over the more virtuous Laura as the ideal mate for Greg.
Ava Gardner arc on Knots Landing was quite the contrast to Lana Turner arc on Falcon Crest. Ava was by all accounts well-liked by Knots Landing cast whereas Lana was allegedly throwing diva demands during her Falcon Crest arc. Then again, Ava admitted that she took the part on Knots Landing for money so she was really in no position to throw diva demands.
