I don't think so but I am not totally sure.

If she's still active I wish someone could interview her. I would like to know whether it's true that she quit or if she was fired.

And thanks for the article @Paul Raven

I know Obsolete Video uploaded a 1978 episode. I do wonder how much else they aren't uploading.

When I watched that blurry 1972 episode several years ago, I thought that was Jane House playing Liz. If she was fired or quit in 1971, that was her replacement I saw.

There is no telling what Obsolete Video has in his collection of soaps. He has posted a few episodes and shown opening/closings in channel surfing videos. Archives and celebrity estates are sending all their stuff to him by the truck load. What annoys me is he rarely shares anything and mostly post videos about his studio, a project he is working on, or the equipment he has acquired/restored. He needs to start selling copies/making available the footage he has to help fund his projects. He could set up a streaming service where he charges a small fee for access.

Wow ! That Melinda death scene was pretty gruesome. That is proof that written synopsis never do the actual scenes justice. I remember reading years ago the summary of Y&R's Lorie confronting Leslie about her pregnancy. It sounded like she just stood there with a smirk on her face questioning her. When I actually saw the scene. Lorie went totally ape $*#! and backed her into the corner. I thought she was going to start beating her and Lucas comes in and all but puts her in a headlock.

This is so grim, much more than I had expected it to be based on the recaps. The final shot is somewhat haunting.  I don't understand who decided this was what the ATWT audience wanted to see. And all for a story that was almost immediately forgotten and a character never mentioned again.

At least they were able to shoot it on location, which wouldn't be the case as the years passed.

Yeah, the recaps I've read are wrong. They say she drowned but it looks like she got run over by the boat. It also says that Brad jumped in after her and THEN got knocked unconscious. That's not what happened.

For once, I was on Brad's side.  I, too, wanted Melinda to sit down and STFU.

That entire sequence played out like a slasher movie.

Yikes. I am with @slick jones, I didn't expect the boat to hit her either.

For the period this was shot in, ATWT exceeded expectations. I thought it was going to be cheesy and look cheap. They proved me wrong.

😆 @Khan! You didn't wanna hear Melinda scream out even more that Brad is the perfect lover?!

Oh, is that Steve Christy from Friday the 13th?? I didn't recognize him. They tried to put him over as a leading man?

People say dumb [!@#$%^&*] when they're [!@#$%^&*]-faced, but "Brad Hollister is the perfect lover"?  Nobody gets THAT drunk.

I don't know WHAT the EP at the time (either Joe Rothenberger or Fred(die) Bartholomew) was thinking.

It's one thing if Brad had been written as this nerdy, loner type who was infatuated with Dee - someone he could have regarded as beautiful and unattainable - but they tried to make it seem like all the women in Oakdale, including poor Melinda, was just crazy about his junk.

Frank Runyeon looks so different here compared to when he was paired with Meg Ryan.  Here, he almost looks...older, lol.

That was my very first thought. They gave him the Tony Orlando hairstyle circa 1970s.

And the sideburns. All he needed was the stache. 🤣

I've always wondered why they never brought Carol back in future years. But then again, it was probably for the best. They'd probably have her come back being a vixen wanting to break up Tom and Margo. That would've been more for Natalie to do but I digress. Reading up on her history, post-Tom, Carol stayed getting with sleazeballs (re: Jay and Steve).

Does anyone know who Jeff and Annie were spying on?

Also, how long before Cynthia gets phased out now that it appears David has his memory back?
