Oh so you hate him. Understood. JY benefited from playing a core character? the man won an emmy and yearly:lol: has been in the running w/ subpar writing for his character. The main reason Alexa Havins was somewhat loved by fans was b/c of her chemistry across Jacob Young's character.

Scott is boring, he has been that since Ryan played him for Gillian since 1998. Cosgrove, March was the best, but again no one cared about him and Becca or any of his SLs. In one corner JR tells you I'm no saint, I never try to be...

Today Scott, the rotten hypocritical rat bastard is in one room telling Marissa to go after AJ, and telling her what she has started (No bitch you started this, you!) and then he goes to JR telling him to signal for peace, STFU. Scott started this, JR will end it.

But I don't hate him. (I assume by "him" you mean the actor, not the character.) I also don't love him. I don't care that much about him at all. In fact, I've probably spoken more about him in this thread than I have in the last couple of years. Actually I like JY more now than I have at anytime in his tenure on the show I'm glad he's pulled it together and hit his stride but that doesn't mean I think he's Jesus making blind viewers see and raising storylines from the dead. JY is one of those middle ground actors for me. He's a familiar face that let's me know that I'm in Pine Valley but you'll just have to pardon me if I don't fall to my knees and claw at his zipper in order to thank him just for gracing us with his presence on the show.

As for JR, I find him every bit as boring and tedious as you find Scott. I liked him better with cancer.

He even said it in his SID interview, it's the first time they are really writing for the JR character. Even he thought JR's writing was basically a plot point. I agree, I love JR right now more than I have ever have in my life, when he came on he was a badboy mixed into a rude womanizer, he's still that now, only now his character is showing progression in the business world that Adam has always wanted from him. He's made some dead characters rise, lets be honest there. JY has been middle ground, I agree there the writing for his character was never lead material, more like plot point material, 4th antagonist type stuff.

We'll disagree there, JR hasn't gotten hands on yet, but he's every bit one of the attention grabbers on this show. Just today JR was must watch in everyway, setting the gauntlet vs Marissa, playing Scott, and sabotaging Annie's party, even manipulating "That Bitch, Liza" into not RSVP'ing. This is just the beginning, we haven't touched on his manipulating Asher, or one upping Caleb, or switching 3/4th of CE to his side. I'll put it this way, he excites w/ reasonable action, not ridiculous stunts and he's multi-tasking.

Loved today's show. Thought it was awesome for the most part!! The Liza/Kendall/Greenlee scenes were the best part....loving how Liza is acting these days, getting all snark with everyone!! Kendall, Greenlee, JR...Liza isn't playing any games, haha.

ConFusion biggrin.gif LOL @ people all of a sudden going there now. It's been a long while since we've seen it....

LMAO! That was the line of the day, LOVED that part....Alicia delivered it so matter of factly. And it's so true! I'm so glad they didn't give that line to Greenlee.

I'm done trying to sort out the mystery of how Kendall/Greenlee are magically friends again...I actually found their scenes today to be quite enjoyable. Kendall was acting so hilarious!! It's a very serious situation, and yet Kendall kind of has this comedic edge filtering through her. Love how the writer's are allowing Alicia/Kendall to be more funny and less whiny, etc..

Also I forget what Liza said exactly, but it was to Kendall about how she's lucky she's not in jail right now....Kendall got quiet after that and the camera focused on her. She stared at Liza for a LONG ass time LOL!! And the camera was just focusing on her the whole time. Kendall's stare...LOL.

eta: Wow B&E's scripts actually aren't bad. They are solid and have a lot of humor in them...they, along with Lisa Connor & Kate Hall are the best script writers on the show right now, IMO. Joanna Cohen and Rebecca Taylor are at the bottom!

Kendall just assumes because she's so insecure and would lie to the police that everyone else would too. I wish Madison had told her off!

ITA. B&E make much better scriptwriters than they did headwriters and I would rank the writing staff the exact same way as you did.

Are you referring to me? I try to be very clear on when I'm stating my opinion and the only guy on the show who tingles my crotch is Frankie. (I can't believe I just typed that) But I really believe that JR and Scott are interchangable in their current states. Without Adam and Stuart to add context, they just kind of morph back and forth between bad guys and love sick puppies. If we had Adam around to push JR and Stuart to try and keep Scott on the straight edge the difference between them would be so much better defined. Of course, DC would spontaneously combust from the overwork.

Yep. B&E wanted to write for "L.A. Law," but they were fully staffed for the season. The Shapiros read their spec scripts, however, and hired them.

    • Copying and pasting pasting this here as to not to derail the KL thread lol Wow I forgot CBS actually did try multiple attempts to come up with a soapy replacement for Knots on Thursday nights in the 10/9 slots for the 93-94 season.   Angel Falls had promise but CBS didn’t give it a fair chance. Latham’s Second Chances got even worse ratings than Angel Falls and wasn’t given a second chance when the Northridge quake destroyed the show’s sets. One West Waikiki looked gorgeous but was a blink you missed it affair. Finally we got Hotel Malibu, a quasi follow-up to Second Chances that stayed as the summer replacement series it was. CBS switched gears and had Chicago Hope air in the slot…against ER. It made the Top 30 but obviously underperformed below expectations. CBS gave up, and gave us 48 Hours for years there. It wasn’t until the 2002-03 season when CBS finally produced a Top 20 show for that spot with Without A Trace against an aging ER.
    • Of course I join in on wishing that Peacock & Corday & Sony would all together come to the conclusion that NOW would be a fine time to put some of these gems in the archive on full display!!! But, at the same time I'd like to give kudos to the fact that behind the scenes they've been doing the great work of preservation by taking tapes, etc. & converting them to modern digital formats. Besides the important fact of preserving them it means they are ready to go!

    • Bill and Hayley’s living room set should be redressed as their bedroom. We’ve not seen their gorgeous circular entry way set since the first week? Why not utilise that more and build them a living room off those double doors? The hotel room also doesn’t have a bed? Does only Dani have a bedroom?
