Rebecca Budig was a "reporter" for WWE, wasn't she, so he's already got an in!

yes, and hosted the bachelor marathons on ABCFam. She is so in!

ABC World News with Rebecca Budig and Special on location reporter Vanessa Marcil*.

*as her schedule permits.

If this can't be worked out, OLTL and AMC are a year or two closer to cancellation.

This seems like the unfortunate reality of the situation.

Frons has already been rewarded for failure, so yeah I can see them promoting him for other things

A year or two closer? I'd say we're already a year closer, I think both won't last another year possibly two

Aren't renegotiations in May 2011? They can easily work out a deal then. This doesn't mean AMC, OLTL, or whatever is getting canceled.

I think they are. ABC soaps are not going anywhere in the near future. ABC has said that it IS backing all soaps, and the actors they are hiring and the upgrades for OLTL is not being done for anything. LOLS.

AMC have already gotten 4 new people already. OLTL getting HD upgraded, and GH is always the favorite.

ABC soaps still have 2-5 years. :) (Well thats my hope)

maybe I am slow, but why does this news mean OLTL gets canceled? I am not following, they would still have to pay the writers but they would still do the classic episodes, the writers would just get what they are promised, I don't see how that causes the shows to be canceled and it is very annoying that as soon as any news of any kind comes out, it is always OLTL is getting canceled

It doesn't at all. It doesn't mean any show will get cancelled. Take it all with a bleeding grain of salt.

Just because someone writes a script, it doesn't mean it has to be produced and they can still do the less 20 episodes per year.

Guess this means fans can kiss AMC good-bye then...

LOL

This is pretty idiotic if true--talk about the WGA shooting themselves in the foot.

Yes cuz ABC will be right thrilled to pay for scripts they don't use, or end up with weeks of backlog...

It doesn't mean OLTL will be canceled, but it does mean the soaps are a little bit mor ein danger if it's true--cuz it means 60 or so more episodes they have to pay for that they were hoping to cut out of their budget for ABC daytime.

they will just negotiate for the 60 less episodes when the WGA contract is up in May,
