I guess no ABC press release this week? Several other time slots got one, but not daytime.

I also hope ATWT did well last week.

And then there were 6.

Im at the point i dont care anymore. OLTL, my favorite soap is boring me. GH has been ok recently but from what Im reading, it looks like its just gonna get bad.

ABC must have had a really bad week. I'm not shocked, they've been having a hard time for months and almost tieing ATWT on a regular basis. This should have been a good week for CBS with the ATWT finale and Days is about due for a good week. No press release tells me ATWT must have hit at or over a 2.0 there by making ABC look pretty weak.

Fearless Predictions

Y&R 3.6

B&B 2.3

ATWT 2.2

Days 1.9

GH 1.9

AMC 1.7

OLTL 1.5

That's more or less what I was going to predict. ATWT might get a 2.1 only or it could even get a 2.3 for the week depending how huge of a bump it gets. I see AMC and OLTL both at 1.7 or 1.8. I'd still love to see ATWT beat B&B.

Yes,....and it could happen soon.

Yes, ATWT and OLTL compete in the East. Last week, the ATWT gain took a chunk out of OLTL so same logic should follow this week. Plus, OLTL ranked 1.6 about one month ago so a .1 drop isn't unrealistic (Last week OLTL pulled 1.8 so a drop of .3 isn't all that big). The two shows share viewers, KISH helped to seal the deal, and there are only so many viewers at 2pm. I don't think a big drop for OLTL means anything when it is up against 'special' programming. I remember the Cheers and Friends finale episodes wiped out competing shows. I wouldn't date to equate anything on daytime with a prime time hit but there will be some flux this week.

Rux, I would LOVE to see ATWT surpass B&B but where will the viewers come from? This could have happened a few years ago when soaps still had viewers. Granted, it is only a .4 gain--small when you think about it. We haven't seen any non Bell show break 2.1 in so long! Three years ago, ATWT had B&B's 2.3 and that was considered a rather poor ranking. OLTL could easily hit a 1.5 soon considering they only mustered a 1.6 for a few weeks this summer; however, I still think One Life will grow now that World is dead. I no longer buy the idea that people are network loyalists who refuse to sample other shows. I'm pretty sure OLTL hired Pissante (sp?) in an effort to pick up some lost World viewers. I totally expect to see a ATWT style story soon. I noticed that they used oldMargo (forgot actor's name) a lot this week in the trial. She was good and, for a moment, thought she was Margo ;) I wish OLTL interested me. I wanna give the show a chance but can't get into any of the stories.

The show hits a 1.6 once for the week and already predicting 1.5s. Even ATWT never went that low for the week. Heck, OLTL never hit a 1.5 for a 1 day episode.

I don't see OLTL growing with ATWT gone. Viewers arent going to switch to OLTL. They will watch whatever other soap they have been watching or like me. I have stopped watching soaps. I dont watch them anymore.

OLTL hit 1.6 once, the last week in June.

Wouldn't be surprised if OLTL lost some viewers last week as the previous 3 weeks it posted net gains of 241,000 viewers.

I don't think OLTL will get many ATWT viewers to switch over. I don't think folks jump soaps like they used to.

    • Kimberly McCullough shadowed at GH and completed an ABC directing program, but I don’t believe she was ever credited as director or given an episode of her own to do. One of the reasons why she got work so quickly was because she had multi-cam knowledge from years on soaps.
    • Do not apologize for this. I was thinking just today it's bringing me fond memories of when I was a teen of Angie and Jessie. Jenny and Greg, Philip and Beth. And although they were teens, Steve and Betsy.  I like a good teen story.
    • Yeah Suzanne mentions Y&R here  (no spoilers in the article) https://www.tvinsider.com/1227485/days-of-our-lives-suzanne-rogers-anniversary-maggie-storylines-mickey-victor/
    • I wonder if she may be transitioning to behind the scenes.  How many GH actors have also directed while acting on the show?
    • Despite my wish that Ric get revenge on Alexis and the gang, I really enjoyed their scenes today. RH and NLG have honestly never lost their chemistry with one another. Seems like Carly genuinely let herself give into Brennan today and regret it. Also just cause I smoked earlier it, it randomly hit me for the first time in over a decade. They had Michael murder Claudia played by the actress that played all of the most important early Michael stories. Kinda twisted lol
    • -- I love a good build, and the show has made me look forward to Winterfest. But some things seem so forced.  -- For example, the Vernon/Sharon meetups. GMAB. It's so obvious what this is and they're playing it too hard for too long.  I think one purpose is to make Leslie look like a fool, but it's hard to take. Is the tour over for Sharon? Does she sit in the hotel room all day long waiting for Vernon? Is he paying her bills? It's dumb.  -- Leslie is an awful human. I don't think she gives a rat's ass about Peaches. She cares more about Eva's sex life.  -- Izaiah and Eva have nice chemistry, but their conversation seemed forced to me. Didn't sound like first date dialogue and was too on the nose.  -- Shanice was great in taking down Leslie. I'm so glad the writing didn't have Leslie land the biggest smackdown. Dr. Wilkes was also great.  -- Again, Leslie is spending like she's worth a bajillion dollars. This has to be written for laughs.  -- I've done a complete turnaround on June. I now think she's a great addition.  -- Martin and Smitty are so concerned that Tyrell learn about Banneker that they call in a guy who started work there this week?

-- Tyrell is so much more mature than Samantha. I hate the way she treats him and talks about him in front of others.  She really sat there and asked Jessica why she's even with Tyrell. Samantha is pathetic.    Screenshot time: -- If I can get Fish & Fries at Orphey Gene's for $5, why is a glass of juice $4 ? -- That Mr & Mr sign at Martin and Smitty's is beyond lame and tacky.
    • So do I. Jack actually treats her like an equal partner. And he’s done far less evil things Nikki has just to ignore including to his own kids than Victor any day.
    • This 11/17 episode was extremely lazy and boring. That Adam and Chelsea opening scene was so cringe and out of character for both.  Billy Flynn is being wasted and I was only interested in Claire and Holden.    Every character feels the same with no actual personality.
    • Ugh...right? At least if Chris Bernau had been able to continue in the role, it would've been intriguing to watch Alan manipulate Reva.
    • Yes, it was. Dinah had started to soften after Henry's heart attack in March. After Paige Turco took over the role, the attitude is turned way, way down. The thing about Vanessa was, she could be very territorial. If Dinah had gone to Lillian (who had befriended Dinah before she knew Vanessa was her mother), that would've stung a bit, but Van probably would've understood. But Dinah getting advice from Ross' new girlfriend would not have sat well with her, the same way Van later bristles anytime Nadine tries to stake some kind of role in Bill's life. @DeeVee  I know it's been brought up before, but I hadn't really connected Long breaking up Ross/Van to the fact that she'd neither created that backstory or been responsible for giving them a love child.  I wonder what she would've done had she been there when Jordan left, and had to break Billy/Van up.
