I was all tumblr_m78m0vCZsI1qj6z95o2_250.gif at Sue Ellen's line about Michael Jackson's doctor.

JM struggling through rattling off all of those stats about methane was like watching a first year acting student doing his first monologue in front of the class.

Go 'head Bobby! I love the way he handled dude at South Fork and the visit to Miss Ellie's grave was lovely.

Something about the way Sue Ellen said "Latino gang!" struck me as surprisingly un-PC and refreshing in this day and age.

Yeah, I peeped them as an Aubrey/Cutter fake brother sister duo of grifters as well. What I'm wondering is if the brother is the one who has Barnes blood. Rebecca obviously has something unpleasant in her past and my mind goes straight to prostitution.

I just got around to watching the show today and it's doubtful if it's going to be must see in the future. Between Brenda Strong's wretched ass and Jesse Metcalf, the show leaves me sad. Jordana Brewster:( I don't look forward to it any longer, and I'd be ok if Sue Ellen was written out COMPLETELY! I don't buy a word coming from Linda Gray's mouth, and the Michael Jackson pill reference was so ugly and forced.

Christopher negotiating with mobsters? I just don't have words, but I can't with JM anymore. I can't.

THIS IS NOT DALLAS!!!!!

The original Dallas at the VERY beginning was extremely different IMO than post Who Shot J.R. Although the old dallas was popular from the start from what I have heard, It did need some time to figure out what kind of stories needed to be told, how they needed to be told, and it just needed time to figure out what kind of show it needed to be. Then BAM JR was shot and it found its place. The early seasons (DVD season 1 and DVD season 2) did not really have a continuing story arc that was the focus on every episode like post Who Shot JR. It was like first season Dynasty. One episode was Primarly about Ellies brother returning with a little bit of the Jr drilling on south fork story and another episode was Just about Jenna returning because JR though she could break Pam and Bobby up. If they decided to do those episodes later on they would probably be stretched out for a complete season instead of being pressed into just a single episode.

Basically, This Dallas needs to find its place for the year 2012. People would be board to tears if they started this show like the old one due to the same reason why I cant stand 1st season Dynasty because it was slow. Back then Y'all had 3 channels so Y'all had no choice but to watch it. Know their are 3000 so they needed to grab everyone's attention right off the bat!

The only few great actors on early Dallas where BBG, LH, KK, LG and VP. Jim Davis had horrible timing and he overacted ALL the time. Patrick was extremely hollow and Charlene Tilton was so bad I have to FF through all of her scenes. Charlene even said that she got the job because she begged the producers on a daily bases. I would even say Barbara Bell Geddes was bad because her crying seemed forced (except for Mastectomy). I have her on the Good acting list because she was the only one who could play Ellie.

I think it's interesting that BBG and Julie Harris were cast as southern matriarchs Ellie and Lillimae on sister shows because they are like two peas in a pod. They're both petite spitfires from Broadway's Golden Age (BBG was the original Maggie in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof), and looking back on their classic peformances in the fifties, many modern eyes would call their work a little hammy and OTT. Ellie was probably one of the most understated performances BBG ever gave.
