SOD Fall Preview

In this week's SOD, Executive Producer Ken Corday gives a preview of what's coming up this fall. He expects ratings to go up because of the faster pace and because "we're giving the viewers more of what they've been asking for in the past few months."

Sami/EJ/Rafe/Arianna - After the failed wedding, EJ becomes even more distraught. He is suicidal and drunk, and he eventually passes out. Sami then comes over and shoots him in the head. Corday says "she is not a killer, but she comes unspooled. It's temporary insanity." She tells Rafe, but EJ doesn't remember anything. Arianna finds out the truth, but is hit by a car before she can tell EJ. There will be another big beat in this story in November sweeps.

Hope/Bo/Jennifer - Corday says that his happiest beat is the return of Jennifer. She will be a much needed friend and support system for Hope in the upcoming months. She will be central in getting Bo and Hope back together, and will also be the catalyst for a major Bo/Hope story that will last through the end of the year.

Vivian/Victor/Maggie/Brady/Nicole - According to Corday "There are many layers here, and it's a huge mystery." Brady will uncover Vivian's plans to entomb Maggie. He is furious over what Vivian has done with his mother's body and her memory. There is an "incredible" twist, and Brady and Nicole will bond as they keep Vivian at bay. Meanwhile, Victor and Kate discover that Vivian is being held captive.

Carly/Daniel/Chloe/Stephanie/Nathan/Melanie/Kayla - Stephanie is determined to find out who switched Chloe's paternity test. Kayla returns to confront her daughter because she knows something is making her uncomfortable. Stephanie comes clean about everything. Nathan tells Stephanie that Chloe cheated, and Melanie overhears. Chloe reluctantly admits it, but doesn't tell Melanie that it was with Philip. Daniel and Chloe prepare to get married, while Kayla tries to find out who really switched the test. Says Corday, "...you won't believe who it is. It's the last person you'd expect."

"Explosive secrets and heroines in peril are at the center of Salem Spectacular September."

Bo/Hope/Ciara - Warden Jane Smith tells another prisoner, Lee, to keep a close eye on Hope. Bo continues to worry about Hope's safety, and Ciara is having problems at school.

Sami/Rafe/Will - Sami and Will become suspects in EJ's shooting. To prove his loyalty, Rafe quits the FBI.

Melanie/Carly/Daniel/Chloe - Melanie shows up on the day of the wedding demanding answers. Carly and Melanie have it out.

Victor/Nicole/Brady - These three form an unusual alliance. Brady takes action when he discovers Vivian's plans and that she's moved his mother's remains. Gus tries to help Vivian, but is foiled by Victor.

Kate/Stefano/Chad - Kate decides that Stefano and Chad should know the truth.

Stephanie/Kayla/Adrienne/Justin - Stephanie is determined to find out who switched the paternity test. A worried Adrienne calls Kayla to get her to come to Salem. Justin and Adrienne take a tentative step toward rekindling their love

Not really, she is in the mausoleum, i think.

but yes, she removed her bones, i guess, and plans to stuff Maggie in there.

Sounds like Brady finds out and he and victor and nicole team up to stop it and nicole/brady lock viv away and stefano/kate find out viv is being held captive.

As long as Victor isn't the actual one to put Vivian in the sarcophagus, I'm okay with it all. I don't think Maggie would be able to get past Victor doing that. BUT Victor knowing something was about to happen and knowing AFTER THE FACT that Brady put VIv in the sarcophagus instead to protect his mother's memory as well as Maggie... well I think that's romantic in a twisted, Salem kind of way.

It would also be really sweet if Kate wants Viv to rot there but Victor nixes the idea because of Maggie.wub.gif

(If nothing else, a whole host of viewers will finally learn how to spell "sarcophagus".)

Really? I dont think she will care too much, not enough to not get past it. I mean, this is Victor. he has done far worse. and this woman is after her, esp once you factor in brady being in on it.

No, they will not. because she is nothing without him so he, sadly, has to be stuck with her. As for another man, who kinda man are they are going to bring on for that cold shrewish bitch?

    • I think Bill covered for Martin's crime..
    • It's so jarring seeing the changeover from Sherry Mathis to Louan Gideon.  The vibe, mannerisms, and overall personality of Liza changes instantly. The chemistry Sherry has with both David F and Joe Lambie is gone the second the recast happens.  I wonder how viewers took the news of the recast since you didn't have time in between airings before the change happened. Quinn/Sarah... One overacts (Quinn) and one under acts (Sarah). Wendy of 1985 is a good mix of the 1982 sweet Wendy and the 1983/84 vixenish Wendy.
    • Oups!! I guess when i was doing the editing, i left a part of 3169, too (RTL Lounge airs 2 episodes per day back to back). Sorry about that ! Tonight i ll try to record 3171-3172. If i m not mistaken 3172 is missing from YouTube.

    • I would put Felicia in the 'small dose' auntie category because she means well, but comes on too strongly at times.  In small doses, she would be a blast to hang out with.. but in anything larger than a small... she would be exhausting. I tend to prefer lower key people than people that are always 'on' all the time.  Those people can veer off into energy vampire status pretty quickly.
    • I didn't like the Harry story, but Nazar did have a great introduction. He was probably the highlight of last year.  Now that you mention it, I guess the truly dire stories (Nicole, Harper/Drew/Phil, Nicole) didn't start until summer.
    • thank you all for contributing to the Vault. I am slowly getting towards watching the 1998 episodes

    • I pray⏤and I know it's a big prayer⏤that Noel Maxam is somehow able to figure things out budget-wise so we can stop re-dressing existing sets as "new" sets. I know in apartment buildings apartments can generally look the same, but I'm over it on this soap. The last time he was executive producer was in 2011 when the original Horton Town Square was introduced, and we had some other sets get introduced around this time (likely pre-commissioned prior to his election), but I'm trying to have some hope he can pull this off. Let's [finally] see it.
    • Definitely not the best of RC's breakdowns. I don't know what it says that I could pick up his trademarks yesterday 30 minutes in without even knowing that he did one. There was something more...quirky/boardstroked...about Dani. Though I love the Dani/Nicole scenes, she was just a little too hip?...which made me think back to the episode when she broke into Bill/Hayley's house. Then watching the episode later on, I saw Hayley was being used as a punchline to the more interesting and relevant Bill/Ted scenes (see you all were just talking about how you hoped they got scenes...one thing this show is great at...what people want on this board...they already have the foresight for it. The reason I feel the DNA test will get mentioned @Cheap21 in more detail). And then poor Anita reduced for the most part propping up an album.    Needless to say, not my favorite RC episode. And since we are in aftermath week, I just smh. And barely worth a rewatch. BUT...was there good for me?    Yes. Thankfully, we still got good aftermath beats regardless of the breakdown.   Like I said, I really like the Dani/Nicole scenes. But I love their dynamic. And I was looking forward to the shoe being on the other foot once the SilkPress storyline hit climax. Quirks aside, it did not disappoint. Dani came in, and she came in fierce for her sister. I loved her attacking Eva. And then her being surprisingly introspective about Nicole due to her own experience. No wonder Nicole reacted to her being self-aware. So did I.    Meanwhile Bill and Ted finally met up. I'm kinda sad that we did not get that sooner given the scenes that played out sidepiece in the background aside. It might have been interesting to see more of their status as non-Duprees coming into the family explored.    And of course I can't leave without mentioning Eva vs SilkPress Sheila which was the highlight. Both of them were giving. And SilkPress was just so cold with it. I did love that Eva finally stopped letting her gaslight her. Sad to see the duo break up. But I did love that she went to Ted. So...the next turn begins.   And speaking of turns...uh oh at Kat and Tomas. I'm sure he won't be staying away from her. So most definitely, Kat vs Eva ain't over. It will be interesting to see how it goes now that most people know that Kat was right all along.
