August 12, 201015 yr Member I love how this thread turns into CSI: Ratings once the press releases come out. It's cool. All we need is a theme song by The Who.

August 12, 201015 yr Member Poor AMC will dwell at the bottom of the 18-49s week after week once ATWT goes off the air. They better hustle.

August 12, 201015 yr Member Top 5 Daytime Programs in Women 18-49 (rank based on rating) Program Net Rtg/000s The Young & the Restless CBS 1.7/1.11 million The View ABC 1.3/866,000 General Hospital ABC 1.2/810,000 Bold & the Beautiful CBS 1.0/692,000 One Life to Live ABC 1.0/688,000 Days of Our Lives NBC 1.0/673,000 Price is Right CBS 1.0/669,000 And again I throw out my doomsday scenario, but I would be very worried if I were Y&R or B&B. Barbara Bloom and Nina Tassler don't want to be responsible for the boss' wife's show failing. Even if they lost some of Y&R's domination on the 18-49 female by replacing it with The Talk, a 1.2/1.3/1.4 would still be enough to bring in massive profits for a show that is so low in costs. They will not get those numbers at 2PM from ATWT's older-skewing audience that would have been watching the show at that time. To directly compete with The View, they need a timeslot proven to bring in viewers. Y&R gets a lunchtime crowd, depending on the timezone. That's one of the biggest reasons why the show averages a 1.7 in 18-49 Females. The plan is to debut this show Oct. 18th. I'm betting almost anything part of the reason this show is premiering so late is because they may want to promote a timeslot change to viewers a month before it actually happens. LOL, I think Nina probably already has her thinking cap on as to what "NEW" product CBS Entertainment can come up with to replace both these soaps eventually. Yep, if I were them I would really be worried. I mean with all the promotion & stunt casting, their #s should be flying off the charts. I expected at least a bit of a bump. That 18-49 demo of Y&R has not moved in I think 3 weeks. Good luck to them, they are going to need it. Edited August 12, 201015 yr by JimTolkien

Y&R, who knows? I can't see that show continuing with inflated production costs. I see them giving Y&R's timeslot to Julie Chen, to sabotage the show and drive half of their viewers away, so Y&R will be level pegging with the rest of daytime. Y&R has a great lead on that female demo. But I wouldn't put it past CBS to sabotage that to give The Talk a better chance fighting against The View.

I don't see it being cancelled anytime soon. I'm sure the show will experience massive budget cuts with each renewal, but I'd expect it to be around for a good long while. B&B will probably hang on too. They're the only two shows I can see lasting at least another five years.
