John, how the devil do you find all these? Do you put "soap temp" in the search box or something?

I checked Imdb to see the eppisode number and then put passions 1560 & presto

UGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH at Rib Hillis and Shannon Sturges.

Eric Martsolf was always too smug and smarmy onscreen but he had some abilities (along with flaunting it) and McKenzie Westmore was amazing when she tried (and I loved her OTT psycho Sheridan). Of course, anything would look good compared to their temp replacements. Ugh!

Wasnt there talk that JT could have been made Quint permantley but the fans didnt take to him

In those clips of Josh Taylor as Quint, you can see the short-lived redesigned set for Company. The set was scrapped after just a few months.

Judy Dewey, who filled in for Laura Malone on AW during Malone's maternity leave replaced her as Blaine.

Wasn't Jess Walton rushed in to replace Brenda Dickson as Y&R's Jill with no firm guarantee of taking over the role?

Jess had subbed prior that year and when Bell fired BD, Jess was brought in

And that was BS. Laura was fired for not losing her baby weight fast enoygh. The recast didnt work and she was written out with Sandy less than a year later

You're so right; I had forgotten about the whole Blaine recast fiasco. What a horrible thing to do to Laura Malone - but she had the last laugh as she is now a successful lawyer.

I think Dennis Parlato was initially a temp recast for Clay on Loving and Roger Thorpe on GL, then took over the roles.

Not Loving. Larkin Malloy has said he was fired & replaced. I tthink GL he was supposed to be a temp but P&G didnt want to deal with Zalow's illness so they kept DP. But audiences hated it and they canned him a year later.

I wonder if GL had used Joel Fabani as Roger again he would have been better accepted. Although I feel it was more of their treatment of Zaslow than who the recast was.

And now and it took quite a while I dont think you can fire actors/actresses during maternity & paternity leaves

The last one I know occured was OLTL's Laura Koffman (Cassie) in 1999. Then I believe it was changed in the SAG-AFTRA contracts
