HBS was very desperate for Gregg Marx to get the role of the Sam Rappaport recast on OLTL in 2001. It went to Laurence Lau instead, who she loved as well.

Sam was a worthless role no matter who played it. It's too bad Marx wasn't hired in another role.

She also tested for AMC's Bianca in the 90's

Jen Lilley and Chrishell Stause both auditioned for Jeannie-Theresa and Jordan, but Marnie Saitta convinced Jen to play Theresa

OLTL's Melissa Archer (Natalie) just revealed on TOLN Soaps Live that she originally auditioned for the role of Jennifer Rappaport. Plus Jessica Morris (Ex-Jen) is currently at Melissa's house in LA. Also The role of Natalie went from Anna to Valerie then finally to Natalie.

Caroline McWilliams whp had soap roles on GL and AW in the early to mid 70's auditioned for "Ellen Tucker Shepherd" on "All My Children" in 1977. Caroline was told by producers she was too young for the role which ended up going to Kathleen Noone. McWilliams then landed on Soap & Benson.

I remember that the auditions for Kendall were actually taking place in late Summer of 2001, many months before the character would make it to screen in January 2002. Assuming it's around the same time, Bailess was probably up for the recast Marah Lewis on GL, replacing Laura Bell Bundy. (She certainly looks the part.) We know of course that role went to Lindsey McKeon, who debuted in November of 2001 - so the timing makes sense.

I never knew that about Caroline McWilliams. She wasn't right for Ellen, but AMC would have been smart to find some role for her.

I didn't know Jessica was that close to Melissa.

Chandler Hill Harben was offered a role on Y&R, but was cast as Rico on The Doctors instead (1975).
