The leave of absence mention by Brot was odd. Why would anyone volunteer that?

 I know, right!? Talk about loyalty. He should have at least said paid LOA.

No, not really, but I can totally picture Jasmine in the role.

LOL@ Jonathan and I with our simultaneous opposite reactions.

The glasses, etc remind me of Jasmine in her role on Vampire Diaries--prob the attitude too.

I actually am loving AMC right now, don't get the hate, but one thing I do find odd is the lack of continuity between scenes--it feels even more extreme than when pratt came in and said he'd be doing more fast paced quick scenes and less interconnecting scenes (ie showing people leaving, etc). I mean yesterday we had Bianca go to Tad's to see Opal, then she was at BJ's then she was at Fusion, within three segments, never seeing her really leave any of the places. We also ended one scene with Jesse questioning Greenlee at Fusion, and then the next scene after commercial brea he was gone. It just feels kinda disjointed to me--today was less so but I still got some of that feeling.

Sounds like classic wannabe primetime maneuvers, keeping things trucking in an hour, trying to cover a lot of ground when they're afforded the luxury not to. They think we don't have the patience to watch somebody on the same set for too long. They could at least give us fancy establishing shots like in the old days. ;)

And btw, if I ever had my own soap, Jasmine Guy would be on my short list for resident diva.

That was Pratt's reasoning--and it makes sense as he plotted the show that way (like he was writing Melrose Place) But with these writers it just feels disjointed to me... They haven't done establishing shots for ages though this year they oddly started doing some for the hospital--but I remember when I first saw 80s eps which ALL did them I was shocked, cuz when I started watching under Behr she cut most of them (I do remember Wildwind cuz I loved that building)

Though I've never been by it, Wildwind is not far from where I live. I liked the shots of Linden, and Phoebe's and Adam's house, the early '90s is the last time I remember seeing them.

It's also possible that with all of these new ways they're trying to get several scenes in the can when they've got an actor in the studio, the scheduling and the writing are starting to develop a jumbled sort of relationship where things look like they make sense on paper but on the screen they feel as you said disjointed.

I thought today's episode was actually really good (minus Amanda/Jake).

I am really digging this medical storyline for Angie.... yeah Angie and Jesse are self-righteous hypocrites.... but it could ground them a bit.... at least I hope!

Liza and Damon's sexual tension is reaching a fever pinch... I liked the twist of the allergic reaction, however as they went to commerical break with him pulling up her dress it seriously appeared as if he was going to rape her....

I thought this was a great episode.

I loved the Damon/Liza twist. It looks like she might actually develop feelings toward him before they eventually sleep together (not a spoiler, just a suspicion).

Angie's medical condition story is being handled well so far. It's not being played too melodramatically.

Re: Brot. They're really editing out all his stuff? Wow. That explains, then, why my onscreen TV Guide thingy had a little blurb about him for today's episode: "Brot shuts down." Granted, I didn't see the whole episode, but what was he supposed to "shut down?" His computer?

Spoiledd Brot scenes have been cut for the last 3 weeks!

Does anyone know why? At first I thought it was due to the preemption and someone at the network level (probably Frons) wanting Jamanda's wedding to air on the day advertised (wasn't there some big magazine article about it?). But now, I'm wondering if someone at the network is trying to get rid of the entire PTSD story.

I'm loving it these days too (of course, we agree as usual)!

That's what I think, too. They're trying to use several sets per episode and shooting the scenes out of order when the actors are working. So, there isn't the natural flow that the show used to have. It doesn't bother me too much though as long as I like the storylines.

I'm a little disturbed with the fact that Damon stuck a needle in Liza's thigh.

I found it hilarious. My mother never made her seafood allergies and epipen look like porn.

And I live by "Pine Valley Hospital."

Well, then, Carruthers and the writers needs to get their act together. General Hospital and One Life to Live shoot on the same type of schedule. James Franco shot all of his scenes for GH last year in three days.

I think partly the disjoint that we are seeing is due to the editing. I believe there are several scenes that are not making it into the final cut.

Not only were Brot's scenes cut out, Madison's fire scenes were cut out too. Instead, Ryan saved Madison in the park after finding her with a twisted ankle. Erica, Caleb, and Madison should form a recovery group: The Twisted Ankles.

Did they actually shoot these or were they just completely re-written before anything was shot?

ETA:

The other theory that I have is that the show got behind in their shooting schedule so they simplified and re-wrote certain scenes.

I'm desperately hoping that Damon and Liza fall for each other before they sleep together. I don't want it to be easy for them to pull away after they start sleeping together and are discovered because they are hot. Damon pushing her against wall was sexy as hell.

I can't wait to see Tad's head explode when he realizes that Liza wants another man more than him and it is his son. I'm a tiny bit more sympathetic to Colby, but I hope that TPTB realize that they aren't working as a couple and don't push them together as a couple.

I want to see this too but I'm having a hard time believing somewhat as hot as Jamie Lunar would end up in bed with scrawny Huck Finn.

Huck Finn.

What's great is this works regardless of the actor's name.

Can't you just see him in a straw hat, barefoot with rolled up dungarees?

I find it believable that this sexy Liza can be attractive to a hot bad boy like Damon over an older user like Tad. Damon brings excitement and danger. I rather see Liza with Damon than Tad or David. TPTB need to cast a hot in shape man in the appropriate age bracket for Liza. I think someone like Michael Lowry (ex-Jake) would be perfect.

I think someone like Michael Lowry

SO SEXY!

He was hot on AMC but he just was on another level on OLTL.
