Ouch. Those numbers are brutal. I haven't listened to the album yet but I didn't like her first single "Not Myself Tonight."

The funny thing is when I first heard Gaga's "Just Dance," I thought it was Christina and I was like, "Wow, Christina finally has a good song again."

Christina needs a big hit badly and I'm going to guess it won't happen with this album. Maybe she needs to hook up with Red One or even Max Martin and Dr. Luke for her next album if she wants a big hit.

Don't waste your time listening to the rest of the album. It sucks big time!! What has happened to Christina?? I use to love her music. This album is pure [!@#$%^&*]!!

Damn. Christina's album is a certified flop.

She just doesn't have IT anymore, she waited to long to come out with a new CD.

I never liked her like that, so I really don't care.

I wish she would go back to her ballads and pop songs. This whole trying to be Lady Gaga 2.0 isnt working for her!

The album falls from #1 to #29 on the UK album chart this week. :o

This is one of the biggest falls I've ever seen, especially when the album is new and was #1 in its first week (granted, with very weak opening sales).

This album is a massive flop, she should start thinking of another album to be released next year if she wants to salvage whatever is left of her pop career. Unless, of course, the next single so,ehow saves the album...

She should stay away from more dance-based music, that is not her forte. She should focus on a more mid-tempo sound, with the occasional dance song and ballad thrown in.

The Not Myself Tonight video is a bad mesh of Madonna's Express Yourself and Human Nature videos with Gaga's Bad Romance thrown in. Aguilera allegedly said it was to pay homage to Madonna, but damn, it was too obvious and crappily executed.

LOL. It's apparently the biggest drop from number one in UK chart *history*

They have gone on damage control, rush releasing the Sia ballad the same way they did when Dirrty flopped (though that song was at least a big UK hit)

Wow... Just tragic.

And hysterical!!! laugh.giflaugh.giflaugh.gif

I believe... that there is no 'salvation' for Christina.

Bar a miracle or something.

Couldn't have happened to a nicer lady.

I really don't see the Sia ballad saving this album like Beautiful did for Stripped. it's way too slow IMO, especially for the summer.

That Sia ballad won't save this flop album. Radio will never pick that up in heavy rotation, and it's summer, people don't want to hear heartbreak ballads.

She and RCA might as well pull what RCA did with Kelly Clarkson after her flop album. Shelve it and then release a more commercial and consistent album next year.

But, that might be too late. I think she's had her time, and it's over. Her career as a commercial pop act may be long over at this point.

There's no room for her anymore in her current incarnation. Its unfortunate.... she has a voice powerful enough to get by on that alone.... hopefully she can come back, but as her own person.... not ripping off everyone.

Why anybody bothered to make Burlesque or give it such a wide release might be a mystery. Until it's revealed that Screen Gems chief Clint Culpepper greenlighted his boyfriend's $55+ million passion project. (Their on-set strife over budget, schedule, and creative decisions resulted in the most expensive film in Screen Gems history, and word is they're now broken up after 20 years. Awkward.) But novice director Steven Antin deserves at least some credit for bringing back Cher to the big screen: they both dated David Geffen, and the mogul urged Cher to take the role. She hasn't had a major film since 1999's Tea With Mussolini and is a bonafide national treasure. But am I the only one who can't stand Christina Aguilera's hammy vocal stylings or Steven's sister Robin Antin "Pussycat Dolls" slutty dance gyrations? No matter. The studio claims this is an event musical made "for women young and old and it offers pure moviegoing fun" for the holidays. Too bad no one showed up in theaters even if the soundtrack opened to #1 on iTunes and is currently #11 overall. Screen Gems did its best to market this clunker by arranging for live performances with Christina on the Dancing With The Stars season finale as well as on the American Music Awards. And for Cher to do her first major interviews in 10 years and have her hand and feet immortalized in cement at Grauman's Chinese Theater. The studio also did grassroots marketing in the gay community and sponsored pride parades in LA, NY, and San Francisco, as well as Burlesque-themed nights and "Cher-aoke" in gay bars across the country.
