I like Jeff Branson, but like others have said the cast is getting too big. They will probably have to cut people again and not the ones we want to see gone.

Didn't Maria say this was a short-term role, or Nelson at least reported that she had said this?

They said he was on contract so I assumed that means 3 years. Maria said the story was a short-arc, they could probably keep him around after his initial short story arc is over.

Y&R doesn't have another three years left, those contracts might as well be written in invisible ink.

Unfortunately, Y&R's contracts are written with the same crayons the writers use to write their "stories."

MARIA BETTER NOT KILL SCOTTY.

I can't see Babara Bloom wanting to only have Jeff for a short term role since he was one of the big names that was wanted for other soap work.

Maybe Kevin needs a heart...

Why would he need to replace something that was never there?

Mark it's sad seeing you so cynical :( I hope you keep posting though I've missed your voice here.

It's fury Carl. This is way worse than bone crypts in Kutna Hora.

*gasp* The problem is that I can see this happening

And that's the sad/troubling/disturbing part.

Oh well, more Daisy and Ryder.

Is it for certain that he's going to be a new character? He could be a recast for Chance. Watch it be a new character with no blood ties to the canvas.

You mean no blood ties that we know of.

They said the same with Malcolm recast, Daisy, and Chance.

Really? I don't recall hearing anything about Chance, Daisy, and most certainly not the Malcolm recast being breakout roles. If they were supposed to be breakouts then it failed. That doesn't mean that the part for JB will be though.

Ah, I can see it now.

Branson is playing Chuckie (now Charles), who knows that Snapper gave him a kidney 30 years ago, but who doesn't know he's Snapper's son.

Alas, the kidney is failing, and Charles is too ill to take another. Dialysis only works so long, so Charles is dying a beautiful, tragic death.

It turns out Charles is also gay. So Charles will have a beautiful dying romance with Rafe...they'll stare at each other longingly, smooth one another's collars, and be seen once a week. Branson will die after a 3-month stint (probably 12 appearances). This permits them to "get that gay storyline cooking" without actually being stuck with a long-term on-contract homosexual...

Perhaps this was meant to be funny but I sure do see this as something Y&R would do. Especially with what the show has now become.
