So happy for their ratings and they did the marketing and promotion ALL right. if the CW did this ish right when they had it then they might have pulled in strong numbers but they always focused the most money on Gossip Girl and now TVD. So happy Dawn O is out as President.

I LOVED their sets -- I mean I do miss the old ones but this feels a little more homey.

Kelly -- her look and attitude is just allover the place this year. I was not feeling her one bit. She did make me laugh a lot with her and Tasha's back and forth. That's the only thing.

Tasha -- Love her, I was confused with her angle since I was switching between channels but i cannot STAND Terrence J from 106 & Park or Rocsi for that matter. i would have rather she stayed with Rick Fox or even the hella old coach from NCIS.

Malik -- What a prick. I couldn't stand him last night and as much as I adore Megan Good, just no. FINALLY TT shows a backbone and what malik did to him with his girl was just foul.

Jason -- He made me laugh when he took away Kelly's entourage and camera crew. I'm still not feeling his sports anchor angle. Although I liked it during their final season on The CW since he sucked at it.

Melanie -- I too was surprised at first when she seemed all buddy/buddy with Janay (Janae? idk)and I was conflicted at first when she was trying to do a DNA test to see if Derwin was really his father or not but she showed an extreme case of b!tcha**ness when she didn't tell him he was really the father. I really hope she doesn't lie to him about it and just comes clean.

Derwin -- I didn't really see a lot of him but he's cute with his son and I <3 Pooch.

The funniest thing was my cousin telling me that she's pissed they got rid (or has it down really low) of the laugh track. idgi when they used it it wasn't really funny whenever they sometimes timed it to go off.

Malik sleeping with the owners wife reminded me of the British show "Dream Team" when the coach sleeps with the owner's wife. I thought the management was going to bust Malik because of what he did to his bathroom. It looked like he overheard Malik and Tee Tee talking about being with the owner's wife. Did anyone here not think Malik was going to sleep with Tee Tee's "life partner"? I'm hoping Tee Tee exposes Malik's affair.

Kelly looks like she was going for a mix of Angelina Jolie and Rhianna.

Making Jason a sports commentator was a smart move.

I want see how Melanie is going to dig herself out of this hole and what it will do to their marriage.

I really want this too! When he walked out I just kept thinking get revenge by putting his a** on blast with what he's doing since he seems to thin its OK to be out in public and it won't come back and bite him in the a**.

Oh and I absolutely hate what they did to Brittany. She should still be a little girl not rapidly aging her. Plus I love the fact that this is now an hour long show, I hope it stays that way.

Dude, for real! I was shocked...people were planning viewing parties. "Goin get the food for the game tonight." And I'm thinking they mean some sports game, but then there's like a million comments underneath about "Derwin ol fine ass"'n'em. [!@#$%^&*], even I tuned in for the last half and I don't even like shows like The Game.

It's better than that, according to Tv by the numbers, it was the #1 Ad-Supported Scripted Series Premiere in Cable History. http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/2011/01/12/cable-debut-of-the-game-ranks-as-1-ad-supported-scriptes-series-premiere-in-cable-history/78387

That number of viewers has to be twice as much as it drew when it was on the CW.

Because when Tasha thought Kelly had betrayed her she introduced him to Stacey Dash which diminished Kelly's hopes of a reconciliation with him after her disaster of a relationship with Ronan (I think that was his name). Tasha told her at Melanie & Derwin's wedding and Kelly hit her.

    • I would argue that Another World never played "everything" for laughs. Even when there were comedic scenes in some storylines there were other storylines that were not intended as comedy.  You give 1988 as the end point, and Mary was on the canvas from August 1986 to February 1989, so she must have overlapped with the despised laughs you are referring to at least half of the time she was there. I honestly can't recall any real comedy that Mary would have been part of. I don't think she was lighthearted about choosing between two husbands, MJ's prostitution, Kathleen's death, or even her son Scott dating her daughter Cheryl.  I would have said that the amount of comedy depended on the head writer and there was more comedy under Richard Culliton and Gary Tomlin in 1984 than subsequent headwriters. I guess there was an outbreak of more comedy when Cecile kidnapped Cass from his wedding in 1986, but in general the Sin Stalker wasn't presented as funny, Mitch's return wasn't funny, John's arrival wasn't funny, Reginald wasn't funny. The tone was serious even if the plots verged on the ludicrous. And maybe that's what you mean -- but I would make a distinction between intentional comedy and storylines I can't take seriously for other reasons.
    • I'm excited for us to get back to a full weeks worth of episodes and also us beginning to move into the episodes filmed once the show premiered. We're already starting to see changes in the lighting and the way certain characters are styled. Of course we know this week we have our first recast as well. After the big Eva reveal, I hope the show continues to move into a positive direction and that we see them starting to fix some of the things we've all had issues with.
    • It seems like they may have been going in one direction for Andre and then changed their mind. He had this player/bachelor thing going at first where he was messing with Dani, seemed to be feeling Eva, and then somehow smitten by bland Ashley of all people. I feel like Ashley was supposed to be the one that finally made him want to be with someone and settle. The way he talked her up in those earlier episodes was really confusing. The wonderful, amazing nurse Ashley and conveniently she's unattainable because she has a partner, but he can't stop thinking of her and takes these busted pics of her. It was a mess. However, it all seems to have been dropped. I honestly feel like Andre can go. That may be an unpopular opinion but I don't need his breathy final syllable to be content with BTG. It's always like "There's gotta be another wh-ahyy"
    • This is where McLaibey falls apart. It becomes clear that McTavish had not thought past Brent/Marion...so the energy drops and she starts throwing things at the wall (Blakes twins, Lonatrat.)   Fans HATED this funeral. Everyone is mad at everyone else, which is fine, the death of a beloved community figure would give people a reason to come together...(Quint and Nola could come together at least for  a bit to support each other, Nola and VAn could finally admit they kinda, sorta like each other) Its just an example of McTavish's mean writing.   I have a feeling they were going to make Dahlia Frank's kid but they chickened out. Making Tina a prostitute didn't help, they could have been lovers when they were young but felt society pressure to part. Marcus took over David's role (you can't have two young black men at that time...)   Get used to it...this will happen, the same storyline over and over until the end.
    • Does anyone happen to have a recording or any footage of Jennifer’s funeral?
    • It's such a shame that the conflict couldn't be resolved in a mature way between the two actors.. especially since Albee was a bigger asset for the show in terms of character and his popular will they/won't they pairing with Deborah Saxon. One of the things about Edge was that it was just as popular with male viewers as it was with women.  It's one of things I think the show forgot in the final year or two with the deemphasis on the male characters.
