Anyone else remember Phoebe's woman's club The Daughters of Fine Lineage ?

OMG, those DLF meetings that Phoebe held at her house were hilarious. Enid and Marion were also members, as well as Phoebe's friend Juanita Ramsey.

They should bring this angle back to Pine Valley. I miss the snobby blue blood characters.

We never saw Juanita but I thought it would have been a cute nod to history to have one of her granddaughters round out the group of "hot girls" Lily had to contend with. It could still work if they give Greenlee and Madison more Pine Valley friends from boarding school.

(As a child I assumed Juanita was a negress. )

I could have sworn Juanita was shown a couple times -- like at the club meetings.

Maybe I'm getting her confused with someone else, though.

I distinctively remember a scene with Phoebe having a DFL meeting at her house and all the women sitting around drinking tea.... and Phoebe spiking hers with alcohol. LMAO!

They were discussing an adult book store that just opened in Pine Valley and they wanted to get it shut down.

You could be right, but I just remember Phoebe mentioning her, "My dear friend Juanita Ramsey..." God, when you quote Phoebe you just have to do the voice aloud (and dart your eyes to the prompter), words on a page don't do her justice. :P

Awww, the 25th. Ruth Warrick was a very attractive older lady. She went down so fast, doctors say that breaking a hip is a major blow to a senior's overall health. :(

Langley and Myrtle actually sound a little alike. ;)

No, we never saw Juanita. The only member of her family I can recall seeing onscreen was when Phoebe tried to set Cecily up with her grandson.

I think they should have brought her on for Phoebe's funeral played by Agnes Nixon herself!

    • I'm not sure how I felt about it, but I do kind of like that it felt like the show telling us this concludes the first chapter of the series. Could be interesting if they only do it for big aftermath episodes. The biggest mistake with Martin is that it's almost hard to buy his anger because we've gotten no strong scenes with him and his parents. They've all been with Anita/Vernon. I can't even remember him ever even saying one word to Nicole, even in passing.
    •   Thank you! Agreed on both posts. And the comments about Mike Manning are nonsense.
    • I haven't watched yet, but did they explain the current ownership of The Bistro?  Because when RonC was writing, wasn't he applying for work with Sophia?
    • I think Brandon has gotten better in normal day to day scenes, but he’s very over the top when the character is meant to be angry or agitated. I did laugh when she started yelling at Leslie and then when he started to throw all those damn books, lol. He needs an acting coach to work out some of these kinks.
    • I've never found him as bad as some. I think he's always shined in scenes with Vernon, who should be his father. I also think he has great chemistry with Kat and Dani which I hope they tap into more over time. Dani/Martin feel like such a fun and believable Auntie/Nephew relationship.
    • I'm fighting for my life on another board for my husband Brandon and I'll do it here too lmao
    • I don't expect Lois to be the same person she was 25 years ago, but she's definitely lost a lot of what made Lois unique.  It's clear the show doesn't know how to write for her, and the sole purpose of Lois is to hide this Gio secret.  It's a shame she doesn't interact with more of the canvas.  It's a waste of Rena's talents. I like Brook Kerr most of the time.  She can be hit or miss.  I totally get what you are saying about her line readings too.  I honestly think the character really suffers being stuck in the Curtis pairing.  She's much better than Tanisha Harper's Jordan lol.
    • Friday and yesterday's episode is what daytime television should be. The other shows airing could take a page from yesterday's show.  I loved the rage, hurt and anger Nicole unleashed on Ted.  Daphnee should be up for an Emmy nom for these scenes.  It broke my heart to see how Dana had locked Eva out.  I do feel sorry for Eva.    I am still bumfuzzled as to why Leslie/Dana went to the DuPree's and asked them to accept Kat UNLESS Eva is really Kat's twin (and really Nicole and Ted's daughter that maybe they though they lost or an embryo Dana/Leslie stole??) I loved how Anita and Vernon both shot her down.    Ohhh and let me just say Friday and yesterday was the MOST fire I have seen Martin have since the show started.  Maybe Brandon Clayborn is coming into his own with the role finally.
