Like I always said they should have stayed as an affair. They should have parted ways. She shouldn't have gotten the storyline who my baby daddy. I would have rather them repeat Phylis lie she had with Daniel. Summer is really Jack but she wanted Nick to be the father.

The Y&R Bill Bell created was very sexy. Lots of poolside scenes, gym sets in every decades, sauna sets, untra sexy bedroom scenes and subtext in the writing. I agree with Sharon Case's comments a couple years ago that they need to bring back the casual nudity. She doesn't mean show some ass or a tit, but if someones at home why not have the girl in a teddy and the guy in his boxers? Just little things like that were nice touches. I look at Y&R at it's peak as a fantasy look inside the haves and the have nots. Romantic and almost drag queen-esque dramatic. I miss that.

BTW, I just finished Diane's return and Susan Walters is just as flat as ever. What were you guys, particularly MarkH, raving about? She was terrible and still has chemistry with none of her costars. I could never see her with The Great Victor Newman.

I kind of like Victor and Nikki's new approach to their relationship. They're together, but they don't feel the need to run out and "make it official" AGAIN.

That being said, they should tie the knot sometime this year, but it should be low-key and private. Victor brings a justice of the peace to the ranch, and Victor and Nikki get married in front of Nick, Phyllis, Victoria, Noah, Summer, Reid, Katherine, and Murphy.

I would suggest a re-do of Victor and Nikki's first wedding ("full circle" and all that), but Lord knows MTS can't fit into that dress again!

Y&R has to promise never to break up Victor and Nikki again. They're beyond that. 2009 officially ended Ashley and Victor forever...2008 put a permanent end to both Hope and Sabrina...and I can't see another woman coming between them. It would be ridiculous.

Nikki with victor is digusting and i am hoping the writers break them up sooner than later. this couple lost they spark years old,

I'm just tired of the show trying to sell this abusive relationship as something romantic since when does abuse equal love.

CBS even did a poll on the couple reuniting asking for the audience views turns out most people hate them together.

For me, they are like Nik and Sharon. When the show ends, they need to be together, but until that day, I enjoy them so much more apart. Nikki shines when she's away from Victor, although the days of MTS getting enough airtime to shine may be long over anyway.

    • Claybon said Samantha and Tyrell were initially 6 and 7, but aged up for technical reasons, first aged up to 10 or 11, and then finally to 16 and 17. Is that the first time soap children have been SORASed twice before ever airing?

Is this someone you should be dealing with? I got the drama on lock. Leave it to me. You are my sister. You have loved & protected me every moment I've been in this world. It's my turn to stand up for you.

    • I just watched it, it was decent, looking forward to Martin's secret. Glad to get info on why the children were aged up!
    • !!! I felt the same. Martin secret has always been my favorite storyline.  I happen to Andre's wardrobe but it ages him. They have a grandpa vibe.

, Facts! I would like to see something like that in Daytime. Both of y'all can back up off my husband! Tomas couldn't shine his shoes.
    • Brandy was an odd mish-mash of a character. A radical during her college days, then a journalist/romance writer, I believe? But not so much of a radical that she had a problem chasing millionaire Alan, LOL. The actress, JoBeth Williams, went on to have a pretty good movie and prime time career.

Thought I’d share this video featuring Cathy Carricaburu, now Foxhoven, who played Nancy Becker from 1976-1978.

She talks a little about her acting career starting around the 6 minute mark and briefly mentions Y&R. I’d be interesting to see some of her work on Y&R since it seems to be her most notable role.
    • I believe Henry Slesar intended that the Paige/Nola plot would play out over three to six months and Paige would be the new younger ingenue; but a few things happened. Sharon Gabet didn't renew her contract and the audience didn't like the Paige/Brian romance as it flirted with incest. Kim Hunter revealed in an interview that she as slated for 3 months but Henry asked her to stay on for an additional period. I watched Edge during this period when it originally aired and Margaret Colin was not great in the role. She seemed very green among the vets as was the dude playing Brian. He was poorly cast which was unusual for Edge.  I think Henry started to get pressure from ABC and P&G to jazz up the show given what was exploding under Monty on GH at the time. I loved Kim as Nola and all the stories it generated for others. Miles and Deborah in particular. But the next who dunnit plot in this period was not one of Henry's best (at least for me the culprit and explanation were lame for Henry).
