February 28, 201015 yr Member I don't get how she fits into this topic, but... really??? Tess?? Huh? The OP asked about Viki and Jessica's alters.
February 28, 201015 yr Member so you would rather not see ES tackle this again. go back to such memorable characters such as Niki Smith and Jean Randolph. The only way I want to see the alters again is if they wake Viki the hell up about what her life has become. I think that Jean Randolph in particular would be appalled at Viki's endless Todd enabling and her incredible passivity. If Jean returned to help Viki clean house, which Viki desperately needs to do, then I would like to see her again.
February 28, 201015 yr Member Oh. Wouldn't it have been better then to have this alter named Tony? Tommy was probably a play on Tony, just as Jean Randolph was derived from Viki's mother's name, Eugenia Randolph (as Dorian pointed out upon their first meeting). But then again, I'm not exactly sure of the timeline of the alters. We know that Tori was around in at least the '70s because she's the one who smothered Victor, but if Tommy first emerged when Viki was a little girl, she wouldn't have known who Tony was yet. The Tony/Tommy name thing would make more sense if he emerged when Viki was an adult.
February 28, 201015 yr Member Jean isn't appalled at anything. That's an emotion. If Jean were in control, she'd simply not deal with Todd...or if she had to, it would be in a non-coddling, matter-of-fact way. If Jean needs to clean up anything in Viki's life, it would be Viki and Charlie's failed marriage. Maybe she can impress upon Viki that Charlie is excess baggage, who may have been fine to date...but isn't husband material at all. It also wouldn't hurt if she got Viki to realize that Jessica and Natalie aren't little girls, and that it's time to stop "mothering" every scrap and tear drop. As far as Tess goes. The original DID storyline for Jessica, circa 2005, was great. She interjected Jessica with a backbone, a pitch, and made her less saccharinely naive. Furthermore, Bree owned it. She should have gotten an Emmy for that episode. The problem is that since then, every time the writers are strapped to give Jessica a story, they wanna drag Tess out of the clothes hamper. Viki didn't lapse into Niki every time she faced a live crisis, but Jessica reverts to Tess whenever she's faced with something uber stressful...which plays her out and kills the initial appeal that Tess did have. Bess, in the meantime, is a bad joke. They absolutely shouldn't have done that.

I like Charlie and Viki together but I have to admit that more than once I've thought that eventually a point would be reached where Jean would say "Enough." If it were built up better I would have said that Viki distancing herself from Charlie after the latest downward spiral was Jean, and she's just going to use the shooting as a reason.
February 28, 201015 yr Member Does anyone know exactly how long Viki had Dorian locked up in the secret room? And how did Dorian eventually get out? Edited February 28, 201015 yr by Darn
February 28, 201015 yr Member I think Dorian was locked up in the secret room for a month or two months. I think found a secret passageway and got out. This was at the time that Jean was starting to splinter.
February 28, 201015 yr Member Does anyone know exactly how long Viki had Dorian locked up in the secret room? And how did Dorian eventually get out? One of Viki's alters (either Jean or Tori, can't recall right off) let her out one two conditions. She had to end her relationship with Joey and marry David Vickers (whom she despied at the time). That much I can remember off the top of my head, however I'm not sure how long Viki's alters kept Dorian locked up.

February 28, 201015 yr Member Dorian duped Tommy and locked him in the room but he escaped through a hole in the wall that led to a tunnel. Then IIRC, he captured Dorian again. Jean then realized that she couldn't keep this going forever, she was starting to get stressed and lose control, Tommy, Princess, even Viki were "sneaking" out. That's why she came up with the plan for Dorian to dump Joe and marry David. Jean knew the truth about David forging Irene's diary to free Dorian, so she could hold that over Dorian's head whereas under *normal* circumstances Dorian could just go to the police and tell them that this crazy bitch was keeping her in a glass box under her house.
February 28, 201015 yr Member Thanks everyone. I've been on a youtube OLTL frenzy this past week. There's some great stuff out there.
February 28, 201015 yr Member I know. I still haven't seen it all, I don't want to finish everything, which of course probably means by the time I want to see it it will be taken down. I'm glad that so much of the Viki DID story from 95 is on Youtube now, it's really phenomenal stuff, especially the part where Jean fell apart.
