I wonder if it killed Braeden inside to have Victor apologize to "Patty". Although it was about the only good scene in today's show.

What the hell was that . the writers always do this with victor it seems like he is apologzing but really isn't. victor is a pig. really asking patti/emily if she believes in karma patti is mentally ill, i am sick of victor and EB choke hold on the show it's hurting the show.

No, I don't believe it was but I sort of love that it appeared random!!

As for the Victor/"Patty" scene, I loved it...Victor tend to apologize in his own way/own time/own manner...he'll get to whatever he needs to get to when he is ready. Just don't think most fans have the patience anymore. :lol:

Also, don't forget that Lillian kept her husband's last name til the last week of episodes-- the abusive husband who did horrible, unspeakable things to her daughter.

LATEST DEMO RATINGS: March 30 - April 3, 2026

I feel like Y&R has just given up in so many ways. They just repeat the same stories over and over (Victor vs Jack, nonstop talk about corporate takeovers, etc), and they barely bother to write for anyone under 45. I love the vets as much as anyone else, but they can't be the whole show if it's to have a future in 10 years.

Alex babysitting? OK, awkward, but I'll let that go. Stephanie's reaction? Just cringe and stupid. It's hard to believe she survived any of the trauma she's had in her life.
And then the show decides to get rid of Michael Roark (Jeremy)? None of this makes any sense.
But sure, give us another Trivia Night at the country western pub.

I totally agree. Just from reading here while Lucky was gone and then before JJ returned, I remember how much of a hard sell it would be for Lucky to come back because he needed to be redeemed for his decades long absence. And I hoped that with Aidan getting recast and a story, that would be part of said redemption. Otherwise, a Lucky/Liz reunion would be a hard sell even if the actors still had chemistry (which of course they did). It's also why he was not my personal first pick of her three also-single suitors who were back. Out of the 3, he had the most work to be done on him to make a reunion work.

Nuance? These writers? What's that? hehe. They definitely couldn't balance it. The weeks he was out of town with Sidwell and Isaiah could have been cut in half and they could have worked on that when he arrived in PC. Instead of him looking for any excuse to get out of town once he arrived in PC, Lucky could have been dealing with that internal struggle on screen. You are totally hitting it on the head for a great conflict for Lucky (Luke's spirt/Laura's heart). It's only a shame that some folks bts were bound and determined to not make it work cuz they wanted to keep with 'factory settings' for a character that the audience (and someone higher up) wanted back for ages.

First half hour of movie was up against My Three Sons at 830, but yes, looks like the second half hour of the movie just eked out the win over Lawrence Welk (19.8 and 20.2) vs. Movie (20.3 and 19.8) against the 3rd place Green Acres from 9-930.

In addition to what's been mentioned I think the fact that they were more new characters being thrust on the viewer. It had just gotten to be too much. There were virtually no characters left from just a few years before.
That is not a recipe for viewer loyalty. New characters have to be introduced slowly and attached to known favorites. There are exceptions of course but overall that is the most sensible course to take.

GH: April 2026 Discussion Thread

It's difficult because there was a lot of rehab that needed to go into Lucky's character for him to be viable for Liz. He was basically written as a deadbeat dad for a decade. I think it's a tough challenge for these writers to give any nuance to Lucky. He has Luke's wandering/restless streak, but Laura's heart and it doesn't seem like they could balance that well? That's not an excuse. It seems like a writing failure and Frank didn't care enough to change course for Lucky. I assume JJ wanted Lucky to have that redemption and it was half hearted at best and dropped for long periods at worst.
