Sad about Days but happy about AMC. Good for them. With all the promoting that Dante Crap on GH got, they got, still only a tiny bump. Didn't Days get a huge bump for the baby reveal and I don't think that was promoted as heavily.

Dante and sonny needa GO.

And yeah i think you're right about Days.

UGHHHH!

I am about to watch today's episode...But I missed Monday through Thursday...Can anyone fill me in!??

The audience loves the violence. Nothing gets the ratings bumps except for violence. Onliners can say this and that about too much mob but it's pretty obvious the mostly offline audience loves Sonny and Jason. CLaudia's accident when she miscarried, Claudia's murder, and now Sonny's shooting his son. It was a big reveal built upon for over a year. The question is will the viewers be sustained?

The answer is "no." After the action packed sweeps, the viewers go back to doing whatever it is do during GH.

I'm so glad to see AMC recovering and faring better in the 18-34 demo. I think AMC has improved as of late, although it is a show in transition. Improved balance and a focus on long-time core characters will keep the show on the right track.

I have been enjoying AMC more than GH, but those demos aren't increasing, at least they are kind of stable. It is surprising that GH could pick up a couple hundred thousand viewers and can't beat AMC overall ratings.

I think the baby switch on DAYS only got 100,000 and something for it and GH got alot more.

I find it odd that AMC's 18-49 demo was better before they became the #1 ABC soap (in HH) - they still weren't great but were pretty consitently 1.1 or over. AMC's now been the #1 ABC soap in HH for 2 straight months. *(Difference in relation to GH)

Kudos to Y&R. Kicking butt and taking names in the key women demos. Despite the complaints here, the reguar viewers are tuning in.

By nearly 500,000 less than a year ago. If they are down that low now I don't know where they might be in a few months.

GH should have done much better. If this is what they got for Friday, which most people liked, I wonder what they will get for this week's episodes, which many hated.

At least OLTL isn't all alone at the bottom now.

Comparisons to last year is tricky because you have to factor in what was happening last year too. Last year there was a big snow storm which inflated(?) the CBS numbers and why there's a big difference this year.

The 1.9 is pretty impressive when you consider there wasn't any big snow storms or big events or big promotions or holiday.

The 1.9 is really good for Y&R.

GH, this is only the third time since March 2009 they've gotten over 2.8 million viewers, and the 1.4 is strong for them. I don't see them being able to sustain and AMC will probably continue to beat them through February in HH/Total Viewers, GH lost too much ground. That's unless the audience are Sonny addicts who have really been longing to see their man solid front burner again (not that he wasn't always, but he's become secondaryish to Jason, manipulations, Michael, etc. He's been dumbed down).

I'm surprised GH's Monday episode didn't do better. I liked the L/L/N reveal episode better than the Dante's shooting one.

I think a lot of people are just disgusted by the Liz story. It's endless WHOREWHORELizangstLuckyangstNiknothingWHORE. The story is tacky and too forced, and has lurched much too quickly into being a JJ showcase. They don't realize that people who liked Lucky generally also liked Liz back then, and now their memories of that couple are "Gee, remember the good old days when Liz was raped."

The Dante story at least had some good acting.

I think Sonny works better as a lead than Jason, because Sonny at least you have some reaction. Jason is just dead.

I'm glad One Life had another slight increase for the second straight week leading into sweeps because it has gotten better. I hope this gives them the boost they need to have a good sweeps ratings and push back some of those "OL is doomed" rumors.

Angela, what do you think is going on with AMC's demos versus the HH/Total Viewers. Older AMC viewers returning?

I think that ABC will be closely watching GH's demos over this year's sweeps periods. It is still ABC's no. 1 18 to 49 demo soap, but the network and its advertiers must see that GH is steadily going on under at almost the same rate as OLTL. AMC is the only ABC soap holding steady in its demos and gaining overall viewers. Strange that.

Can't believe it, but I agree with you. As bad as MB is, he allows Sonny to react to situations. Jason is a blank wall.
