Emilia Clarke and Kerry Washington getting nods? Feels like the Daytime sh!t all over again :(

Charles Dance role in S3 increased tremendously, and he was magnificent!

Peter definitely s/b in the lead category!

If anyone should have gotten the supporting nomination from GOT, it is Jack Gleeson who has been outstanding and constantly overlooked as Joffery, not Charles Dance.

I saw Diana Rigg got a nomination for best guest star, very nice.

Well, as far as I am concerned Kerry Washington getting a nomination is as much a joke as Emilia's nomination, but neither is going to win so that is fine.

I certainly agree about Jack Gleeson! That young man is wonderful and possesses a fire that not many have! Lena Headey should have been nominated as well! I hope GOT wins because I can't imagine a better show!

The emmy voters are so preidictable. Peter Dinkilage is fine, but he is not the only actor on the show. They keep nominating him because it is the thing to do but Charles Dance deserves the nomination far more. And I would say Nikolaj Coster-Waldau did better work this year, as did many others who just never got press.

Agreed. Awards are mostly all politics. That's why I'm just happy for the deserved actors that do get through (Adam Driver and Bobby Cannavale for me) and don't really think anything else of it.

And then there is Diana Rigg. She;s great and he has always been great, but just because she is the most famous actor on the show doesn't mean she deserves an emmy more than the woman who plays Cat but who nobody knows what her name is, or the woman who plays the Red Witch or whoever. What did she do that was better than what the girl who plays Arya did?

Yeah, MF being left out is a travesty! Absolute travesty! She delivered brilliance effortlessly in every scene!

Charles being so obviously snubbed makes me cry :(

I think they want to keep giving it to PD because he's a little person and it gets people talking. Is he a great actor? Absolutely, but Charles brought it this season. Once they put him front and center, Charles owned S3, IMHO!

Exactly. It's just like Maggie Smith in Downton--yes she's a brilliant actress and it's a great role and a highlight of the show--but did she actually do any heavy acting this year for the nomination? I'm not sure. ANd what's with the guest actor noiminations--how is Robert Morse in Mad Men a guest actor??

Sorry, I guess this should be an Emmy thread.

I'm glad Game of Thrones is up for best drama--but the Emmys HATE anything that has even a tinge of fantasy or sci fi genre to it--if it hadn't gotten such viewer and media attention this year, they would have ignored it again.

(and how the hell is Sarah Paulson a *supporting* actress in American Horror Story)

Sorry but Peter Dinklage didn't do SH*T this year compared to Charles Dance or Michelle Fairley. I'm so over these award ceremonies...

I agree. They thrust Charles Dance to the forefront and he delivered with ease! I am truly disappointed here. I don't watch awards shows, but I still would have liked for CD to be rewarded for his greatest in S3!

Even if he hadnt won I think he at least deserved the honor of being recognized.

I mean Jesus he commanded every single scene he was in! I dare anyone to tell me that their eyes weren't glued to his stern, demanding face onscreen and paying close attention to every single line of dialogue he delivered. Just uncanny.

Even though Theons story was entirely made up Alfie Allen also did a very job playing that crap. So I was sorta hoping he may get some kinda nod. I think he really showed the level of desperation and fear that Theon was feeling all throughout the torture scenes.
