What exactly have I said to you that is nasty? Nothing. You are the one being aggressive over a TV show. "he's dead to me" is an expression. It means I'm no longer invested in the character. I am not freaking out and I've thought through my opinion plenty. Thank you.  I expressed my opinion, which is different from yours, so you felt the need to get personal and condescending. I can like you and still think the way you are posting at me in this particular thread is rude.

Ha! I almost miss the days of a good SON showdown. There have been some epic ones over the years, but my days of really getting into it over a TV show are (hopefully) long gone. When I feel the urge I just hit the ignore button and move on. That's why JB doesn't phase me in the least.

When you start sh!t like "I am getting tired of so and so," you turn it nasty. All I did is ask if you don't think you are being dramatic. That appears to hit a nerve, because you're acting as if I insulted all your ancestors and their pets (have you been accused of this often in real life?). You are taking it way too seriously. What happened to a good, ole-fashioned "nah, bitch!" Or "YES, I'm dramatic!"

You see, this is the problem, and it proves my assertion that you're being dramatic. Don't throw out false accusations of "aggressiveness" and "condescension." Talk about making it personal! If I wanted to be that way with you, there would be no room for misinterpretation. Your "thank you" is, however. You "expressed your opinion" and then I replied, expressing mine with several arguments opposing your view. I suspect you saw their validity, which is why you've continued to ignore them in favor of misguidedly standing your ground (or something). You can think I'm being rude all you want!

Except for that part where she was stabbed in the stomach and there is no way in hell she would be able to run that long and that fast. Then she slides on her stomach and not only keeps running, but outruns the waif?

The plot holes in this episode were big enough to drive a truck through. I'm just hoping the next one is better. I expect it will be, since usually the battle episodes are outstanding.

How is this a TV show? Were these scenes from LORD OF THE RINGS? Beautifully done, wonderfully photographed and some shots that were jaw-dropping. This will get all the awards and, truth be told, one of them should be Kit's.

The siege of Mereen and Dany laying waste with the dragons was phenomenal. So, so good. And not to mention Dany and Yara bonding over being women who want to rule, with just a tad of flirting thrown in there.

Things with Melisandre and Davos are about to come to a head. He's had it in for her for a while. I'll be stunned if she survives this.

What can I say about the battle? Sansa was right -- there was no way Rickon would get out of this alive but Ramsay made the biggest mistake he could make doing that. The anger he awoke in Jon pretty much sealed his fate. Harington was PHENOMENAL in the scenes. It was almost stunning how much work he put into his anger and blind determination. That shot of him zigzagging through countless horses, narrowly avoiding death, was just... no words.

Ramsay, that coward, that utter evil piece of sh!t. Running til the last moment. He's had this coming for years and, if there was ever a reason to show a dog tearing into a human's flesh, this was it. Just like Sansa, we had to see. I'm glad she stayed back and watched, before walking away (in another great shot). They got it, they got it perfectly.

One thing I like about GoT is that it doesn't glorify battle. All of those poor men piled high like cattle at the slaughter. Awful. The camera work was really good, showing the confusion and horror surrounding Jon.

Jon thought Rickon might survive, but Sansa understood there was never a chance. I was just glad Ramsey wasn't pulling that child's half flayed body behind him, which is what I was expecting. Ramsey was more diabolical than that though. He knew hope would draw Jon out.  I was also glad they made him a little older. It's not fair, but watching that happen to a five year old would have been worse. All told he had a clean death, so that's something.

Watching the giant (poor guy) knock down the door was pretty satisfying. I wondered if they could make Ramsey's death even a little satisfying. Revenge tends to feel empty to me, since it doesn't undo anything, but letting Sansa end him was as good as it was going to get. I'm glad she didn't lose sight of that goal for one single second.

Having Little Finger around is unfortunate. I like the character, but I wish her were in the south, so he couldn't cause trouble for the Starks.

I wonder if the Red Woman is so subdued because she's seen Ser Davos killing her in the flames? It's strange the way she's just given up even after being given the power of resurrection.

Yara flirting with Dany was fun.

    • Aww, yeah it's very heartbreaking and I mostly enjoyed the Nola/Vanessa scenes because they finally let their walls down and came together in a beautiful moment. So Nola was at the hospital already and bumped into Vanessa, who had MRI papers that fell out of her hand and Nola went down to pick them up and asked her what was going on. Later, Vanessa confided in her about her disease. Then, Nola told Zachary on the beach (he prodded her and already alluded to knowing something was going on with Van), and then Vanessa found out she told him and got a little upset. Now, however, Nola is strangely absent while everyone is mourning her death. I'm curious if Nola will actually tell people about her MRI results. I would assume so. Only Nola, Rick, Roger and Zachary know anything, although there is the MRI results letter from the mail that everyone has missed seeing at home. I'm sure it'll all come out at some point. But... I just saw the next episode and the opening already cut Vanessa out and added Dahlia and Zachary. I guess Maeve is gone for a long time

That will break my heart seeing the town continue to mourn her and assume she's dead. I can't wait to see her return though, and I have to imagine feelings will be torn between loving that she's alive and being very angry she did all of this. While I hate what Vanessa is doing, I'm happy to hear it's not totally against her character. I think you're right, had Henry still been around, she wouldn't put him through this. I'm still surprised she is with Bill, though. I get her feelings on Matt, because she wants him to move on, but still very heartbreaking. I'm glad this was Maeve's choice to have a break vs. being fired.    Interesting, so I'm curious to see who they eventually pair Phillip with. They're flirting with a Phillip/Annie pairing, but I'm not sure if they'll go that route with the Jeva drama, her growing pill addiction, and Rick's past with her.  Ugh, yeah I'm so sad to see Bridget do a total 180 in the last couple weeks. She has always been a strong character from what I've seen, but now she's just bending over backwards to get Hart to love her and it reeks of desperation. Yeah, sure, this new Hart is eye candy, but I'm already tired of seeing Hart/Dinah have sex all over Springfield and the Cayman Islands haha.
    • Yes.  I remember them together during the early summer of 1986.  They didn't share scenes again for 30 years until 2017 because Carrie wasn't on the show when Anna returned during Sydney's kidnapping.
    • I can see Kim being that way. Well, Kyle didn't have to say yes. LOL. The suicide attempt feels plot-driven. I don't know if even Long could've made it work. She'd spent so much time trying to make Reva and Kyle into a couple, it feels odd to just have them give up. Not to mention how odd it is to have Maeve agree to marry him. Re Charita---surely they could've at least tried  finding clips with who was still there. Maybe they wouldn't have been "big" moments, but surely she'd interacted with Ross, Vanessa, and Henry. Vanessa had dated Ed, FCOL. But Mo and Rick were there---surely they could've bothered to find some clips of her with them (and they did interact a fair amount) and used them. And with Ed they could've found some shot of her talking to him and just not cut to whoever was playing Ed in the clip. That to me is what feels lazy---they had more than a year to figure it out, and they went with a bunch of photos. If you were sort of centering it on Rick anyway---then find clips with them and use 'em.
    • I definitely think it's time to write off Nina for good. I think her killing Drew might actually be a good idea. She could completely lose it after losing both Sasha and Willow and she ends up murdering Drew and eventually she gets caught and sent away to prison for a long time.
    • I hope it's okay to post this here(as in from DC)
    • Quick question - did Christie and Leann share any scenes together in the '80s before Leann left the show?
    • This is the perfect way to encapsulate the situation. So many morally-reprehensible stories were foisted on the show and its characters in ATWT's dwindling years. Rape should never be used as a cheap plot device or in a way that degrades the victim. Jack's sexual assault was another heinous example of how nasty the the show's tone had become. The fact that people like Hogan Sheffer, Ron Carlivati, Jean Passanante, Charles Pratt, Dena Higley, etc., somehow end up winning awards for their material, decimates the credibility and integrity of the awards, IMHO. Soaps used to have a solid moral core and did not originally wallow in the gutter, rolling around in filth and depravity just to be cool, hip, campy, or whatever else modern-day PTB aim for. Thank you. Cruelty, degradation and misogyny are not components which lend themselves to successful soaps, which have always been predicated on warmth, family bonds, and providing a comforting haven for their audience. The genre has been crippled because the cynical and ignorant executives in charge understand neither the shows nor what the audience wants to see.
    • Beverlee was on a whole other level from Kim. It's not like they were in competition with each other. I get the feeling that Kim had a slight problem with the super-professional, serious cast members who just wanted everyone to be prepared and do the work, as she seems to like having fun on set. (She's made a few cracks about Chris Bernau being like that). Bev was definitely one of those. But they didn't work together that much. Yeah, they made her manic and also much weaker. She always had a vulnerability, but wanting to kill herself over that guy? No way. Not only that, he didn't leave her! She insisted he marry Maeve. When they did the tribute to Bert/Charita, the compilation of scenes with her showed how much the cast had been almost totally turned over in a relatively short period of time. Nearly every shot was of her by herself because most people she had worked with had been fired, left or been replaced. I assume they couldn't show her with people who hadn't been replaced, like Don Stewart, Elvera Roussel, or Robert Newman because they would have had to pay them for using their clips. It's dreadful to watch. Like she had no connection to the current show.
