January 13, 201016 yr Member I posted this in the Writers/Directors thread but thought it deserved it's own. Today, Susan Lucci, Agnes Nixon, and Julie Carruthers, and other cast members took part in the Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour for ABC. Also there was Steve McPherson, ABC president, the cast of Lost, Billy Zane, and others promoting ABC programming. It looks like All My Children was there to talk about the 40th Anniversary. Here is the twitter feed brought to us by TVTango: http://twitter.com/TVTango An even more detailed transcript here. Looks like Agnes was in the ER two days ago. Yikes! Susan and Agnes recreated that scene from the NY Times event. http://tvtango.com/news/detail/id/144 Some good stuff.
January 13, 201016 yr Member Oh no!! Poor Agnes But if she was well enough to travel two days later I guess it wasn't too bad. Edited January 13, 201016 yr by EricMontreal22
January 13, 201016 yr Author Member Oh no!! Poor Agnes But if she was well enough to travel two days later I guess it wasn't too bad. It must've been the cold weather in NY.
January 13, 201016 yr Member Did Rebecca say that HER fave story was when everyone was drugged (libidizone) or did she say (joke?) that it was Agnes' LOL?
January 13, 201016 yr Author Member Agnes: Good memory...good at dealing with complexiites of people. I'm a consultant, that's my title, isn't it? [to Julie] Julie: she's [Agnes] involved in our stories on a weekly basis. Consultant = ghostwriter
January 13, 201016 yr Member HAHAH Usually in ABC Daytime's history the consultant seems to be someone they pay absolutely no attention to
January 13, 201016 yr Author Member Julie Hanan Carruthers: Ready to announce new writing team in a few weeks. Love the transition writing team. Julie Hanan Carruthers: Move in conjuction with 40th Anniversary took a look at the history and the basis for the characters...people watch for relationships...going back to that and the humor and the real-life issues...committed to finding again. January 13, 201016 yr Member Grr then just use the loved transitional team. Interesting to hear Julie admit that they introduced Liza in the wrong way.
January 13, 201016 yr Administrator Consultant = ghostwriter LOL! I'm definitely going to start watching when LB's material, with the help of Agnes, begins. LB+Agnes should be really good (I hope), I've never seen their material before.
January 13, 201016 yr Member I wonder if, as "interim writer"or whatever, Lorraine will get on screen credit?
January 13, 201016 yr Member Yes, she will be listed with the other AHWs, instead of getting her own separate card (I'm assuming) Edited January 13, 201016 yr by Kubla Khan
January 13, 201016 yr Member And then no one first? hrmm. I do wonder why there's not an official end date for Pratt's name to appear like we've had in the past but i guess I just need to be patient.
January 13, 201016 yr Author Member An article about yesterday's panel with the critics. Susan addresses Ryanica: http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2010/01/all-my-childrens-susan-lucci-erica-and-ryan-arent-long-term.html Edited January 13, 201016 yr by Jonathan
January 14, 201016 yr Author Member Here's the scene that Agnes and Susan recreated from a script in 1970 at the ABC Winter Press Tour. They also did this at the NY Times Arts Weekend. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6SirSAit8Eg

Susan addresses Ryanica: http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2010/01/all-my-childrens-susan-lucci-erica-and-ryan-arent-long-term.html Ok, that's nice if Susan more or less dislikes the storyline and doesn't think the audience buys into it long-term, but as long as it's written, she has to play it. I think Frons and his minions could easily turn them into a one true pairing.
