November 13, 200916 yr Member I believe 2.1 was the magic number. Funny thing is if ATWT gets cancelled it will probably hit a 2.2 or higher the last week of airing. If ATWT brings in the good stories ATWT could easily be in the 2's. A big word!! Yet soaps in general keep hiring awful actors like JPL and FF. I thought it was 2.2 maybe they keep changing it or something. AMC brings in alot of viewers for very stupid storylines. I think this will be another good week for ATWT, I hope so . With Mike back for 3 days it might help bring them up this week. Edited November 13, 200916 yr by AS THE WORLD TURNS
November 13, 200916 yr Member Yay for ATWT! I don't think it was preempted in Texas because of Fort Hood last week during the shooting (I think that was after ATWT aired), but this week it was preempted for the memorial - so I am not super optimistic about an increase.
November 13, 200916 yr Member In the NYC market (which I believe is the largest) many soaps were pre-empted for the NY Yankees victory parade on Friday, November 6, which started at 11:00 am. On CBS, the soaps did not come on until about 2:15 pm during ATWT (so I don't think B&B and Y&R were shown at all and probably not DOOL or AMC either). Y&R and B&B aired at 2 AM and 3 AM respectively, which meant they did not get counted in the ratings tally. DAYS was also preempted in NY for the parade and aired at 3 AM, and Friday's show also showed a slight dip. Not sure if ABC preempted AMC or not that day. Edited November 13, 200916 yr by boldfan01
November 13, 200916 yr Member I also agree OLTL moves to fast and skips so many emotional beats of their stories. OLTL and ATWT will get their pink slips within 18 months. I promise you that. Don't know which one will go first. Y&R is so boring right now

November 13, 200916 yr Member Why do you have to be like that. I guess you don't care about people losing there jobs. I hope you get your pink slip too. Some perspective please? These are TV shows, not economic development initiatives. TV shows get canceled all the time. The entertainment industry is risky by its very nature. If the people involved wanted job security, they'd have become insurance actuaries.

That or produce and write better soaps instead of this [!@#$%^&*] they are giving us now.
November 13, 200916 yr Member Being like what? It's a reality. The truth is only what I am speaking. I watched the cancellations of PC, AW, SB, Passions and GL. All the signs are there!!! Look at their numbers? Why do you have to be like that. I guess you don't care about people losing there jobs. I hope you get your pink slip too. So because I am stating the obvious, OLTL and ATWT will be done in less than two years, I dont care? I am jobless as is my mother. It's hard times out here. Of course I care. Why do you have to be like that. I guess you don't care about people losing there jobs. I hope you get your pink slip too. Ask Brian Frons if he cares! he's the one who is ruining OLTL over at ABC. Can't speak for ATWT Don't make an ass out of yourself by making assumptions about me. Your new here, fall back, pump your brakes Edited November 13, 200916 yr by aMLCproduction
November 13, 200916 yr Member Almost none of the soaps, except DAYS sometimes, play emotional beats now. I think OLTL does play them in some stories, when the personalities are consistent, but often the wrong stories end too fast and the wrong ones go on too long. Also true for too many soaps. Others are lucky to have more ground to lose.

I'm just curious as to what bump Franco will give GH and will it maintain after he's gone I really can't wait for this one though I'm such a fan of his. I also wonder how Marsha Thompson will play out Guza doesn't really write Black characters well (when he does we are very sterotypical) I still think Franco in the hands of this writer is the scariest of all about this event... November 13, 200916 yr Member Were there pre-emptions on Friday? CBS and DAYS crashed on Friday. Wasn't that the Yankees Ticker-Tape parade? I know the Northeast didn't get CBS soaps that day. They aired at, like, 2:37 AM. Edited November 13, 200916 yr by brimike

I think people are overestimating James Franco's appeal. I don't see this being talked about in the mainstream media whatsoever.
