Great Women of Soaps

Seeing this latest trend in best/worst threads, I thought to start my own.

Who are some of your favourite daytime divas, those bigger-than-life, magnetic, super stylish femmes fatales of daytime? It can be anyone from a long-forgotten guest star in the '70s to the main female protagonist on the show. Villainess, fairy godmother, the characters ethics and morality are not the point.

And not to forget: is there a particularly soapy name of a female character you like? Like e.g. Dominique Deveraux (not daytime, but hey), Angelique DuVal, Helena Cassadine, those French/Italian/German/Greek sounding names, that sort of thing.

:)

P. S. If a mod could change the b in the title to a capital, I'd be grateful.

I have never read a quote by an actor yet who didn't say they not only wished they could do more comedy, but that comedy was tougher than drama.

Every actor says comedy is tougher than drama.

There is a truly hilarious picture of Joan dancing at publicist Jack Rich's birthday party on GettyImages.

Joan Collins always played Alexis with a touch of comedy. That's one of the reasons this character became iconic, another actress would have turned "Madeline Carrington" into a one-season villainess.

I can't even bring myself to watch that clip because Mario Lopez annoys me so much. But as for the photos, she's even more beautiful today. The shape of her face aged into an even prettier older woman. DaytimeFan, I looked up that pic. I wish there were a couple more in quick succession, I could have made a gif like my Hubers avatar. :P

BTW, I really dig those pics of Joan in sable and shades chatting with Roberto Cavalli after lunch.

I love those pictures too. She just looks decadent in those particular photos, she's practically swimming in her furs. Joan and Roberto have been friends for many years back from their party days in St Tropez.

That was a really flattering hairstyle (wig) for her. It was very grand. The word I'd use for it is...frothy?

Yeah, I checked yesterday, nothing yet. I used to catch TWWS more often when it came on the CW/My9 (?) at 10pm, now I couldn't even tell you when it airs.

I love it, I love her in this appearance. :) I love it how she says: I don't want to be Salman Rushdie, I don't even read Salman Rushdie. laugh.gif:)
